It's college football. I don't care how they play in the NFL. My school doesn't get credit for those wins.
Right you are. Therefore, how bouts if a quarterback actually plays quarterback and not running back.
Who decides what the QB "should" do? This is college FB. Nebraska needed some big plays to keep them in the game vs. UCLA. The D just can't do the things they need to do when it counts. And the Offense is so hit-and-miss. Despite the big numbers. vs Southern Miss, the passing game isn't there yet. We need Rex back.
Dear Coach Pelini, I'd like to introduce you to my friend. His name is Hot Seat. Get well acquainted. You're going to be together all season after yesterday's showing.
Typically the offensive coordinator. I thought Martinez was supposed to have improved and gotten over his mechanics issues from last year? Actually watching him he's throwing the ball better. UCLA made a ton of plays.
He did throw it better, and if his receivers did their job his numbers would have been a tad bit higher. UCLA made the plays they needed when they needed them. Nebraska made the occasional big play to keep it close on the scoreboard.
I never had any illusions that we were moving from the Big XII to the Big 10 for anything but a piece of the Big Ten Network revenue pie.
Thankfully, UM ran the one guy on the team that can actually run for 20 attempts and got 213 yards. Finally. I still walk away from games feeling like we (Al Borges - OC) don't take what the defense gives us.
All Notre Dame sports, save for football, move to the ACC. SI.com Story The death of the Big East as a football conference is now only a matter of time. In all likelyhood this will also spell the end of Notre Dame vs. Purdue/Michigan State/Michigan, as you know there had to have been scheduling concessions made for football when the SI article specifically mentions keeping the USC and Stanford games while saying nothing about the Big Ten games. Notre Dame vs. Miami/Florida State/Clemson just doesn't have the same ring to me.

That's a renewal of a BIG neo-rivalry. Free Shoes U and Clemson, less so. I get the Irish needing to keep USC on their schedule- the Trojans are their biggest game. I think the conventional wisdom all these years was that ND would eventually go Big Ten because of location, but that isn't such a big deal anymore.
The final score did not favor them. That's just it- you're not supposed to care about sports you can't win in. Indiana has earned no football support and ought to be happy with whoever shows up to cheer for them. Same for Kentucky, North Carolina, UCLA, Kansas and Duke. Those are basketball schools. There's a handful of athletic programs that are successful (conference title in FB*, national title in BB) within a few seasons of one another. Florida, IIRC, won national titles in both sports in the same season. OU and Texas are great in football and have been very good in basketball, but they can't get past Kansas at the conference level. Georgia was a Final Four team in 1983 and played for a national title in football (Herschel's last year there) the same school year, but failed to lift the trophy in either sport. *BB has a legit championship tournament but non-SEC football teams don't control their destiny, so I consider a conference title in FB to be some measure of success that I ordinarily wouldn't if they had a playoff of the conference champs
Auria it is a tad disingenuous to state that Cal didn't show up when they held the lead and were tied in the fourth quarter. At least be honest and man up.
Jesus, you're taking this a bit over the top. I'm just saying they should have won. Ohio ain't all that, just like Michigan ain't all that. The pageant judges have put a bunch of teams in places they don't belong (USC as well- Stanford belonged in that #2 spot) and everybody's supposed to be shocked when they lose or don't win big enough.
You're always raging against an invisible conspiracy. Doesn't that shit give you heartburn after a while? You need to lighten up.
ND is locked in to play Michigan until at least 2017. '18 and '19 are scheduled "off years" in that rivalry, so after that, I don't know if it will be renewed. We shall see. Edit: there is an agreement in place to play until 2031. This would be close to ND's schedule.
