Time for the B1G. New team, divisions, conference championship game - in a dome nonetheless. Get it on. Leaders Illinois Indiana Ohio State Penn State Purdue Wisconsin Legends Iowa Michigan Michigan State Minnesota Nebraska Northwestern
My not-to-smart projections. Which means take these and run the opposite direction. Legends Nebraska 7-1 Michigan 6-2 Iowa 5-3 Michigan State 5-3 Northwestern 2-6 Minnesota 0-8 Leaders Wisconsin 7-1 Ohio State 5-3 Penn State 5-3 Illinois 4-4 Indiana 1-7 Purdue 1-7
I have Nebraska losing to Wisconsin at Madison in conference play but think that Nebraska will get revenge in the B1G Championship Game.
If you guys have the BTN, they're hitting all the training camps this week and doing in depth analysis and interviews.
Wish I got BTN on my cable system...can't even get Fox Sports Detroit, for "Michigan Replay" broadcasts! Charter cable SUCKS!! Heard via WTKA in Ann Arbor, that the BTN special on U-M was a joke...especially, Gerry DiNardo's comments! Good job...starting a new thread! Just 11 days to go 'til the first game...can't wait!
Actually it was good, they gave the team props and said we should be much improved especially on D even though we don't have alot of depth.

Nebraska out on the practice field right now and are simulating crowd noise by blasting the local Top 40 station so loudly that I can hear it on the other side of campus at the Nebraska Union. I think that Lady Gaga is worse than any crowd noise you could possibly throw at a team.
On sportscenter, Herbstreit picked Ohio State over Iowa in the title game. Rece offered the mnemonic device that Iowa and the M and N teams are all in the same division.
Actually he isn't a homer at all. He's spoken out against OSU which made the Buckeye loons come out in droves against him. He ended up moving his family out of state. Nice fan base huh?
He may be delusional with those picks, but he's not a homer. If anything, he overcompensates for being an Ohio State alumnus and is overly critical of the Buckeyes.
I don't know. Delusional? I'll buy that, but then again, ESPN makes the predictions. He's just forced to read them. I always saw him as a homer. He may be critical of OSU, but he stills roots for them, and you can hear it when he does an OSU broadcast. Then again, that may be my anti-OSU bias showing again.
I think Kirk makes his own predictions and although he roots of OSU, he has always been pretty objective in his picks. If you want homer, try Spielman.
I've always like Herbstreit & thought he was very impartial...but, come on! OSU making it to the B10 title game? Just don't see it...I see Wisky beating them! And Iowa?? Not sure what he's thinking there...pains me to say it but it's going to be Nebraska. I still like Herbstreit but have also heard that he's the biggest OSU "homer" on his radio show...never heard it, since I live in LA, but have been told by various fans!
I'm a Nebraska homer, so I'm rooting for them, but from an objective standpoint, if Nebraska is going to make it to the title game, they need to be more consistent than last season. They had some good performances (Washington, Missou, KSU) mixed in with some rather lackluster to bad games (South Dakota State, Texas, OSU, ISU, Kansas, A&M). The only thing that save them in the "bad" games was that the opponents weren't good enough on the whole to take advantage. The schedule is so tough this season, if the Huskers don't give a quality performance week after week, they are going to lose and they could lose several games. Part of the adjustment from moving from the Big 12 North to the Big 10 is the mental part of putting the last game aside and being prepared for the next week and what worries me is I don't know if they have the veteran leaders on this team with the personalities to set that tone. Who is going to command that lockerroom and hold guys accountable? I think this season will say alot about Pelini as a head coach.
Game week is finally here! (all times eastern) Thursday UNLV @ Wisconsin. ESPN 8pm Friday Youngstown State @ Michigan State. BTN 7:30pm Saturday Akron @ Ohio State. I think the Big Ten will have a good opening week...with wins by everybody except NW, who I think will lose a close one at BC. Also, expect Akron v Ohio to be much closer than most think, lol. Can't wait...football is FINALLY here!!
