Thanks for the input! While my wife was training, I did run a little, 3 miles twice a week and 5 miles on Saturdays. I did take about two weeks off before I started the training this week, which in retrospect seems to have been a mistake. I looked at the beginner schedule on the Nike site and it eases in a little more with not quite as much speed work until later on. I'm running at around a 10 minute mile, as I have been for as long as I can remember, so that hasn't changed. I did feel a little sore previously but nothing like what I felt this morning. The tightness has eased a bit as the day has worn on. If you guys don't mind, I'm going to lean on you for help though out my training. I'm a little intimidated by the distances you guys are running but I hope you don't mind helping out a new distance runner!
