OK... we've got some actual scheduling news. http://bluejacketsxtra.dispatch.com/content/blogs/puck-rakers/2013/01/opener-in-nashville.html 48 games. 18 games in division (two divisional opponents five times each, two divisional opponents four times each) and 30 games against the other opponents within conference (10 teams three times each). Columbus will start on January 19th at Nashville and will come home on January 21st against Detroit.
Then went to a four-day work week and reduced salaries 10-15% during the lockout. Even so, your season tickets are holders are your most prized cash-cow (aside from sponsors) when it comes to professional sports. I'd think you'd reach out to them first and foremost, it's been almost a full work-week with no contact - to me that's unprofessional.
One of my co-workers, a FSTH, who also coached youth hockey and plays adult hockey has been getting lots of calls about having one of her teams play at intermission, etc. Crickets from the ticket guys though. But the entire organization has been pretty unprofessional for along time now. Hoping Davidson can help--but he may only be here to get the asset ready for sale.

In all fairness... the deal isn't official yet, and the entire schedule could be subject to change if there's a snag. I think counting chickens before they're hatched would just look like amateur hour if they then had to turn around and change it up AGAIN. I think they should get a little benefit of doubt here.
Except every other team out there is out there contacting STH and fans? Not to mention I got an email today telling me to join in with a five game pack?
My guess is that a mass email will go out within the hour once everything is official, and then they'll be working the phones HARD. But I don't know exactly how much they can really tell us when the home opener is the only date that's been leaked.
OK... How can the schedule not be out now? It's not like the NHL brass have had a ton of more important things to do since Wednesday, and it's not like it's a complete shock as to when the deal would be finalized.
Porty's twitter says the schedule release is imminent. John Buccigross's twitter linked to something regarding the Wild's schedule. They're playing 48 games in 99 days. NINE back-to-backs. I would imagine that's going to be representative of the norm. My guess is that backup goaltending is going to play a major factor in deciding at least a third of the playoff spots this year.
http://bluejackets.nhl.com/club/schedule.htm Schedule is OUT. One game (home) on NBCSN. Two away games on NHL Network.
Wow. At the end of January/beginning of February, we have a six-game homestand, and eight out of nine at home. Then, a six-game roadie. The kicker? We finish the season with a home game, but the six games before that are on the road.
No info to Partial Season Ticket Holders. It almost looks if you start from scratch. I may pass. We'll see what I hear on Monday.
Can't be helped. It's 48 games in a short period of time, a lot of back to backs -- it doesn't make sense to have us play at home, then fly to Phoenix, then come back home, then fly to Dallas, then come home... it'd be insane. And it's not just us. I checked out Nashville's schedule, just to pick one... they've got a seven game road trip while we've got our six game homestand. Later, they've got a four-game roadie, a five-game roadie, and an eight-out-of-ten-at-home stretch. It's just going to be a goofy season.
True but doesn't mean I can't bitch and moan a bit - as a season ticket holder there are weeks we will spend more time in Narionwide than we will at our own house. I'm glad we have hockey back don't get me wrong - it's just quite the season we are about to embark upon...
My pack was one game in Jan, one in Feb, 3 in 9 days in March, and one in April. But, a message just came through from Mike Priest--there will be offers of cheap seats ($25/$15) upper and lower and some free tickets depending on how many seats you hold. I am not sure if that's one for each full equivalent (or a half ticket for me) or one per seat. We'll see. 2 for 1 deal for the Opener. My suggestion is, however, total silence for the Opener. That would send a message to both management and players equally. A team is a three legged stool: players, fans, and management. Lose one and you fall on your @SS.
