I was pretty hungover this morning. A bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on an English muffin really helped get rid of it.

I no longer drink alcohol, but I did -- a lot! What I found to be the best strategy to avoid a bad hangover was puking tons before going to bed. It's an acquired taste (!) obviously, but try it, boys and girls.
speaking of which, my preferred way of dealing with food poisoning is to drink a glass of milk as soon as I feel things are not quite right, wait 5 minutes so that the milk has time get all the way down, and then drink a shot of vodka. when the milk and vodka meet, they create a quite violent reaction and force the entire contend of the stomach out. you have to spend a few minutes puking violently, but that certainly beats feeling miserable for a couple of days.
i think some indigestion is mild cases of food poisoning. it probably depends a bit on your intestinal tract and how much good bacteria you have in there.
exactly. I used to have stomach problems which required the milk/vodka treatment once every couple of years on average, but now that I´m a bit older and tend to eat healthier not that often anymore.
no, it's the alcohol which causes the irreversible liver damage. apart from that, not all painkillers are the same. aspirin and paracetamol are perfectly ok to take with alcohol if you don't have liver or kidney problems to begin with. if you do, then you shouldn't. but I don't.
there´s quite a big difference between "Alcohol + painkillers = irreversible liver damage" and "acute overdose can cause liver damage". I didn´t advocate to overdose to cure a hangover, did I? as for the rare individuals, they are the ones I was referring to as having liver issues to be begin with.
that's not what the wikipedia article says. you're simply wrong here. one should never take any kind of medication, prescription or otherwise, without consulting their physician or pharmacist, if they are going to consume alcohol while using the medication. fyi, the toxic dose for acetaminophen is closer to the clinical dose than for any other pain reliever. it's a safe drug when used according to directions, but an overdose from acetaminophen is not hard to do.
Acetaminophen is bad news, you are correct. However, aspirin and ibuprofen are fine in healthy adults at normal dosages. If you've got something that refutes that, I'd love to see it.
Do not drink alcohol while taking ibuprofen. Alcohol can increase the risk of stomach bleeding caused by ibuprofen. ( see last sentence )
People at risk of bleeding from the stomach shouldn't be taking ibuprofen ever. Anyway, back in the real world where adults make their own decisions, most people can - and do - take normal doses of painkillers without risk of internal bleeding, even if they have been drinking. And without needing a lecture from a Bigsoccer schoolmarm.
but it isn't totally safe to do so. are you disputing the information cited? are you willing to assume responsibility for what happens to people who heed your nice mom advice?
