The most boring one - England vs France.
The most exciting one - Poland vs Russia and Denmark vs Portugal. The first, disallowed goal for Poland would be one of the best goals of the entire tournament I think.

Hate to do it based on goals scored, but Denmark Portgual was a great game, especially given that the Portuguese were likely out if Varela doesn't score.

I agree England vs Sweden followed by Portugal v Denmark. I really enjoyed the Italy game and loved the support from the croatians you could hear it on tv! Theyre the most fanatical supporters in the world imo.

As someone lucky enough to be at both, I'd agree, although the England v Sweden game was more dramatic.
    sendorange repped this.

Maybe dramatic wise it was one of the best (England - Sweden). But quality wise it was definitely not very pleasant...
England is a team that can't win the cup with that style of play. That would shock me :)

Never say cant. And in terms of quality there was nothing wrong with it at all. Both teams played some great football.

No of course not. Greece beat Russia and is in the quarter final. Seems like everything is possible. Personally regarding the quality I hate Greece being in the next round and not Russia. But what's done is done...

I must admit I was going for the greeks and actually tipped them to win, but miss out on the next phase. Got a soft spot for them because I followed their rise to glory in 2004 and saw a few of their games. They caught my eye when Beckham and England needed that last minute free kick to ensure qualification for the 2002 world cup, and also pushed the Germans. En route to 2004 beat Spain to top spot and forced them into the playoffs and we all know what happened at Euro. Saw their games vs Portugal twice, and also the French. I think theyve played some good football in these championships, albeit in patches:)

Never brought into Russia tbh I thought the Czech's were and still are an average team and were in that game on match day 1 for some time. Thought theyd be out next round regardless no matter who they met.

You can hardly compare the Greek style to the win v Sweden. England were certainly a bit sloppy at times, but if England v Sweden reminded you of a negative "pack the defence and hope for a breakaway" type of game, then I can only assume you saw a very different game on tv to the one I was at.

I know you're Irish, but seriously? The Spain Ireland game was better I think.

The Spain Ireland game was one of the most enjoyable to watch actually.

Ireland vs Croatia was entertaining I thought, Spain vs Ireland was painful to watch !
it was a completely one-sided game in which Spain dominated

Sure. But as a neutral it was fun :D

Portugal Holland was very good today too.

Infact I can only think of 1 or 2 poor games so far.

Part of the reason I believe is that victories are so important in the group, even more than the knockout stage. No victory means you're going home early.

The only team I saw play for a draw was England against France.

Some of the knockout games may be less spectacular and tighter.

I think Portugal was going for the draw vs. Germany too, but found more chances than expected.
The Germans were a bit lucky .

No doubt that the KO stages will be tighter affairs and I expect 1 or 2 games will be resolved by PKs.

England vs Sweden and Portugal vs Denmark were very interesting to watch. I also enjoyed watching the Irish supporters during their team's matches - they are amazing.

The 1/4 finals have gone as I expected, not as good as the group stages as both teams know a draw can get them through. France were limp, Greece were limp, Czech republic were limp.

Agree France - England was a poor game but...
How can you say Sweden is "poor"?! We were just unlucky against Ukraine, played even better than England and were unlucky again and beat France! We equally could have won all 3 games. I say Sweden is qual to England and better than France! Notice Sweden is a nation with only 9 million people. So I cant (under)stand it when people say Sweden is poor...

Btw. I loved to watch every Sweden game, nothing as like France - England...The most boring match by far. Apart from that, Spain - Italy was a very good one too. Netherlands - Germany was otherwise exciting but somehow disappointing. Not on the German side, Netherlands was crap, also in all games.

Also, England vs Sweden and Portugal vs Holland were exciting to watch. Not many boring games in this tournament.
