They just tweeted me since I was asking and said it would be on beInSport play. When did DirecTV pick that up? Thx, Jay!
What would be on beinsports play? The Madrid match? DirectTV has been a part of the list for months now. Socceraction made a thread about it December 3rd.
Yes, the Derby would start on play. So there's a separate thread? I hardly ever read the forum for new threads. And I'm having no luck using Play with my iPad, logging in. Thx, Jay!
Yup. There was a separate thread on DirectTv gaining access. Also, there was another helpful thread that mentioned you have to allow cookies in settings for safari for it to work properly on Ipad.
I think you have to sign up for the service on BSP once. I'm not getting the option to do that. I'll have to try from my laptop to see if I can get that to work, then try the login on my pad again. Thx, Jay!
Just noticed that the international feed (Champion and ???) is also available on BeIN Sport too. That's a nice touch (not that the local announcers were bad).
beIN won't even show the trophy presentation. Too busy showing the same game on both channels. So amateur.
You also have to put it into proper context. If BeIN had the rights to The Copa Del Rey final and the rights to a big London Derby for first place of the BPL... .... I honestly do not know what they would do.
Bein Sport is all about Barca/Real/PSG. The Championship/League Cup is a long way down the pecking order(although they've done a better job showing games recently)
I noticed John Champion when I switched over to show the trophy presentation. Wish I knew about that 2 hours earlier while i was listening to Ian Joy bark about quality.
I was thinking about that also. If I was in charge of beIN and the League Cup needed extra time, I would have shown the extra time on the English channel only (joining Atletico Madrid-Real Madrid in progress later) while leaving the League Cup to show the whole Atletico Madrid-Real Madrid game on the Spanish channel. I don't think there are too many people interested in the League Cup who get beIN in Spanish but not in English.
I think that's what the plan was. Ian or Ross attempted to explain it, but I couldn't follow. Thx, Jay!
God, Ray Hudson is insufferable. I despise him more than any American soccer announcer out there and that is saying a lot. "Ohhh... Look out, NICELY! D'AHHHHH!!!! MAGISTERIAL!!!! IT'S GOT MORE CURVES THAN JESSICA RABBIT!!!!!!!!!!!" What an assclown. The fact that this man has enjoyed a long professional career in the US as a player, a coach, and a broadcaster serves as a poignant reminder that the sport still has a long way to go in this country.
I noticed they were two minutes late for the second half of atletico-real game. How does that happen.
They have to air the spots for boner pills and long distance phone cards. Have to keep their two paying sponsors happy.
I'll still take him over the NBC play-by-play man. You know... the one that calls the play 5 seconds after it occurred.
Just a note that beINSport channels will launch on Optimum/Cablevision (New York/New Jersey/Connecticut area) on March 20th on channels 154 & 155... SA www.soccertvblog.com
"Australia is a team that annually goes to the WC and gets knocked-out early." Direct quote from Australia x Ecuador match. Apparently twice in history = annually. Can't make this shit up!
