I did USATH's nationals online in 2009, 2010 and 2011, as well as an Army/Air Force game and a Germany/Poland friendly that was on Comcast SportsNet. Then things changed at USATH and there haven't been those opportunities. Team Handball is about where soccer was in this country in about 1972: our national team was largely made up of naturalized guys who had played "back home," we could barely compete in our own region and we weren't creating players because there were very few kids playing the game on an organized level. There is zero chance there will be a pro league on these shores anytime soon. And, as you mention, that's a shame because I've never turned someone on to the sport and not had them think it's really fun and cool. As a spectator sport, when it's played at a high level, it's a lot of fun.
Glad I finally got Bein Sport (im a TWC nyc customer), but after a week or so watching Bein - i don't think i've seen 1 commericial besides the in-house promo ads. How does Bein Sport make any money? I'm not seeing any revenue stream for this channel at all.
No, Russia is (which is one of the reasons you see these current Middle East problems ... in general, that's outside of the scope of this thread but I'll add that the Qataris attempts to expand into the Western Hemisphere with its various holdings. including but not limited to media, is their risk hedging strategy ... they don't want to be Kuwait'1991 ... the more integrated they get in the US and the Western Europe, the greater political and the military support they will receive ... having the Middle East US Army HQ in Doha is the part of the same strategy ...)
Yep, i get that Bein Sport is backed by tons of money , just wonder what their business model is (if any). No matter how rich you are, there is a limit. From what I can see this can't last long term unless there are revenue streams coming in.
So no news on Fios? This is stupid already. Ive been checking on the thread on the fios board. Some moderator made a comment and I guess the thread is now locked? So weird. Oh well, back to streams. Aaaaaarrrrrgggghhh!!!!
Finally, bein is comming to Los Angeles TWC On or after December 12, 2012, beIN SPORT & beIN SPORT HD will be made available to customers with subscription to the TWC Sports Pass. beIN SPORT en Espanol & beIN SPORT en Espanol HD will be made available to customers with subscription to the Espanol Tier. http://www.timewarnercable.com/en/a...ogramming-legal-notices/west-los-angeles.html
Great find, thanks. About a week ago I did one of those online chats with a TWC rep. Started rocky but in the end he advised decisions as to which area gets channels are made by upper management (such as NY regions getting Bein Sport while LA is shut out). Wasn't getting much out of it so I told him to tell upper management to bring Bein Sport to LA....maybe dude had some pull! In true TWC fashion, I requested a transcript of the communication by Email....never got it.
Nice to see TWC LA finally getting it, just in time for the price hike for the Sports Package. My last bill said it was going fro $5.99 to 8.99 and blamed it on the NFL Network and PAC 10 Network. They can gladly have them back if it means I save $3 a month.
The amount that you pay for both satellite AND cable, and you're complaining about $3 a month? I'm not having a go at you, but that's like paying $500 for an iPad and then complaining about a $2 app.
8.99 is cheapear than Directv. Here is a saving tip. Order El Paquetazo for 12 months, and you will get FSCHS, FSC+HD, GOLTVHD, and now beINHD in espanol, but with the SAP option like Goltvhd. Next season, I am very positive that TWC will find a way on getiing the NBCUniversal sport channel some how in to El Paquetazo package.
They also added a $4 modem rental fee, but I'm going to buy my own modem, and they raised the rate on my package by $13. So total increase comes to $20 a month.
We don't have that here. There's only the Spanish Language package, for $5 a month, and it includes ESPND HD and beIN Sport in espanol in HD. No other sports channels.
I bought my own modem when I got internet from Comcast. I refused to pay $5 a month or more for the rest of my life when I could just buy a modem with wireless capabilities built in for $60. I only got internet at home to watch Serie A on ESPN3. I can't get rid of it now because my wife likes having internet.
