    Deal is NOT done.

EuroWorld Sport is now airing soccer-themed movies on a 24/7 loop.

The absolute drop dead date to get a deal done is October 5 for 2 reasons:

    1. Bids for Canadian rights to English Premier League are expected to be due at 12noon Eastern Time.

    2. Barcelona vs Real Madrid will be on October 6, and AC Milan vs Inter Milan will be on October 7.

    --

beIN SPORT LLC and TeleLatino need each other. beIN SPORT LLC needs a Canadian TV licence, and TeleLatino has a licensed digital TV network that aired 100% soccer.

Now that Maple Leaf Sports Entertainment will be managed by Rogers will Bell as an equity partner, it is highly unlikely that GOLTV Canada will be a viable option.

Youssef is not going to tell anyone in production what he is up to.

    Don't believe it.

Aldo needs programming for a soccer-centric TV network.

beIN SPORT LLC needs a Canadian partner to launch or rebrand a TV network.

    2 + 2 = ?

    Latest update from Phil Schoen

beIN Sport won the rights (La Liga) but is working through the Canadian broadcast bureaucracy to find a provider

I don't see why BeIN can't give some La Liga and Serie A games to The Score in the mean time until they get their channel launched. In return, TheScore can say things like "Coming soon, BeIN Sport which will have Serie A, La Liga, Ligue1 etc..." and they get free promotion out of it and TheScore gets good soccer content ... we get LIVE ********ING SOCCER BECAUSE ITS 2012 AND WE PAY UP THE ASS FOR CABLE!@!!11

So if I'm in Canada this weekend, are you saying there is no legal way to watch La Liga? O_O

    What bureaucracy?

beIN SPORT has the money to buy a piece of EuroWorld Sport from TeleLatino today if its wants to.

I am sick and tired of the posturing between Youssef and Aldo. Just do the deal so that we can watch the clasico on October 6, if not sooner.

In the meantime, can Youssef please offer a legal video stream at beinsport.ca, at least on weekends? Besides the live La Liga and Serie A games, we proud Canadians want to watch one of our own (Terri Leigh) at the controls as well.

Is that too much to ask?

Looks like TLN has a backup plan for EWS just in case nothing comes out of the BeIn SPORT negotiations. TLN got a license granted from the CRTC called Eur-Asian Television Network. One has to assume that EWS will be rebranded and begin airing Asian and Eastern European soccer.

If my friend who works at TLN has any more info, I will let you guys know

Not exactly a mystery to anyone. There are only two possibilities if an official announcement were to take place:

    1. EuroWorld Sport becomes beIN SPORT Canada as of September 1 (or possibly sooner, i.e. this weekend August 25.)

    2. EuroWorld Sport becomes something other than beIN SPORT Canada as of September 1.

If #1 were to happen, then TeleLatino will be the favourite to replace Rogers Media as the new home of EPL starting August 2013.

    --

My friends at GOLTV (USA and Canada) have told me that there is no chance that GOLTV Canada will become beIN SPORT Canada.

beIN SPORT LLC's only choice in partner to launch beIN SPORT Canada prior to October 6 is TeleLatino Network. There is no other viable option. Youssef knows it. Aldo knows it.

There is rumors that Rogers is in talks with Score Media to buy The Score now if this does happen this would be very interesting and it could be a blow to Bein.

The stock market has been closed for 30 minutes. Business reporters are going home.

Companies don't usually announce anything good on Friday afternoons. They only bury bad news on Friday afternoons in order to slow down business reporting until Monday morning.

Where is the announcement, if any?

I just got off the phone with my friend and he in fact told me that as of Friday morning TLN started testing BeIn Sports signal off Galaxy 17 I believe. Very positive news if you ask me. Definitely no Serie A this week but I believe next week the earliest we could have EWS rebranded into BeIn Sports.

I should get some more news Monday

Thanks, but is there any word on pushing it to new/any providers? Only on Rogers cable at the moment, which is absolutely useless unless you live in Toronto.

    Launch fees, BAY-BEE.

    Launch fees.

At least CDN $3 for each subscriber, if not closer to CDN $5, to carry beAN SPORT Canada.

Bell TV and Shaw Direct are both licking their chops at the prospect of being able to count tanker loads of "beANs".

Everyone north of the border knows that Youssef will throw tanker loads of "beANs" at them to carry beAN SPORT Canada.
