VERY NICE! Ommegang makes some fine beers. Got into sours last summer on an excellent and long overdue vacation to Wine Country + San Francisco. First day, we stopped at Russian River! World class brewery that doesn't distribute to Illinois.
Has anyone tried Asahi before? All I know it is from Japan and it was part of my Christmas gift from some friends.
All of which are headache in a bottle for me....the Thai beers too. Don't know what it is about them but even one will give me a headache.
Grabbed one today at one of the few good beer stores in New Jersey! P.S. Jersey is too crowded and expensive.
Grabbed one today at one of the few good beer stores in New Jersey! P.S. Jersey is too crowded and expensive. also grabbed a 6 pack of this, local brewery in Philadelphia, good stuff. Figure while I'm on the East Coast, might as well sample all the beer I can't get in Chicago/Great Lakes. Yards makes some nice beers.
i'm a reasonable man, not given to rash judgement. my opinion was that it's all a matter of taste, and even my own fancy varies: english? german? belgian? why decide? there can be no "best" beer in the world. WRONG!! my brother-in-law turned me on to this, he always brings two when he comes down from lille (one to drink immediately, one for me). it's not in shops here, but I imagine you can find it at specialized merchants in america. (not sure it can travel that well though).
Not to be a beer nerd, but this is actually a Belgian Strong Dark Ale. It has a mild sour yeast tone, but not an official sour. I only know this because I tried a ton of sours over the summer and they REALLY make you pucker.
Did everyone here give up alcohol as a NY resolution or something of that nature ? Young's double chocolate stout. Awesome for this time of the year. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/664/73
I go there to check out brews from time-to-time. I have had a few Terrapins in my time. Got to check that one out. Drinking a lot of and learning a lot about wines lately. Someone needs to start a wine thread. My evil buddy makes me drink Green Flash IPA whenever we are out. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/2743/22505 Love it! One could literally drink him/herself under the table with this one in a hurry.
That IPA is outstanding! NJ is awful for craft beer, they don't make that much but have quite a bit from other states. I love red wines! My wife and I took a week long vacation this past July, 1st one since our honeymoon, to CA Wine Country + San Francisco. I tried a ton of styles and over 2 days we visited 10 wineries.
Had some Sam Cherry Wheat last night. Love that stuff. Perfect blend of beer and fruit IMO. I have it 2nd on my fruit beer list behind Harpoon Raspberry UFO.
Ok, besides Guinness what other Irish beers do you like or will you be drinking tomorrow for St. Patrick's Day? I used to LOVE this beer, but can't find it anymore in the USA.
Celebrating Ajax's midfield maestro Christian Eriksen and the big win vs PSV today with a delicious IPA from Denmark's Mikkeller brewery.
I believe it is no longer made for export to the US. The Guinness rep in these parts in a dick, apparently, so The Globe used to get Beamish instead but switched to Murphy's Stout because Beamish was not going to be available anymore. They have Guinness now because people were complaining about Murphy's.
Had a bottle of Bourbon County 2008 that I inadvertantly aged, was quite a treat. Only 3 and a half more years until I can have another .
I want one of these box sets... Positive Contact: A collision of hip-hop, beer, cider and culinary exploration
tried some nice pale ales in birmingham recently brooklyn brewary was nice as well as sierra nevada need to expand my wychwood beer experience, they have some nice light and dark ales and a new alchoholic ginger beer called 'ginger beard' http://www.wychwood.co.uk/#/home//hobgoblin/home if u are interested
Never tried an alcoholic ginger beer but I mix up a ton of Dark and Stormys. Generally using Reed's and Gosling Black Seal rum...So good. That's cool you get Brooklyn Brewery and Sierra Nevada over in the UK.
