I'm not certain that this is the most appropriate location for this topic, but here goes.. You may or may not know that ESPN (in the States) is hosting an online voting competition to determine "Who's NOW" in the world of sports. There are 32 athletes comprising mostly the "big 3" (american football, basketball, baseball) sports with a few golfers, tennis players, and footballers (only TWO) sprinkled throughout the single-elimination brackets. Anyhow, David Beckham is going against American Football player LaDainian Tomlinson today (July 3). The competition has already seen its first travesty in international snowboarding phenom Shaun White losing to a marginal top-10 basketball player, Dwayne Wade. David Beckham needs all the support he can get because the "expert panel" will undoubtedly talk about his fashion sense instead of his accomplishments in the Premiership, the World Cup, and now La Liga. To vote, please go to ESPN.com and type in "Who's Now". A window should pop up where you can vote for Beckham and even join the commentary section. Be prepared though-- Americans will take every opportunity to bash soccer, it's fans and players, and most of all Beckham.
