I think (hope) your jumping to conclusions. If you look at the game guide for your game against LA it only showed Beckerman as suspended through Oct. 2nd, because the additional suspension hadn't bee handed down yet.
I had never noticed them listing how long the suspension was through before. It just caught my eye. With them having their wildcard game on Wednesday, likely, you would hope the league would have said something by now...
I don't understand the rules for which games a player is suspended for. He will either be suspended for MLS games or MLS regular season games. Does anyone know how it works?
So because Mullan "intended" to break Zakuanis leg he was thus suspended for 10 games. Mondaini "intended" to foul Javi, but not break his leg thus it only warranted a 4 game suspension because unlike Mullan he only "intended" to foul and not harm the opposing player. Kyle "intended" to head butt someone and send them into next week but didn't and only cost the other player and his team a couple tylenol a 3 game suspension was warranted. Handball Henry grabs Borchers around the throat and doesn't even get a card during or after the game. List of all the dives other than Sabos addressed by MLS and players suspended after the fact: Long list. I'm sure MLS "intends" to be fair when handing out fines and suspensions. I "intend" to think otherwise.
Now, yes, its a joke. The only thing consistent about the Disciplinary Committee is its inconsistency.
Kyle gets three because Kyle plays for RSL. Henry gets none. My only hope - NYDP gets knocked out tonight and RSL wins the Cup. In your face!
No! Kyle got 3 for a violent head butt against another player. Nothing to do with playing for RSL sorry.
I agree with this, up to a point. Do you truly believe Henry would get a 3 game suspension if he did what Kyle did?
The lack of discipline has nothing to with playing for NYRB. Rather, it has to do with the facts that he is Henry, MLS covets the attention he draws, and NYRB invested a ton of money into him. Sad, but true.
Wonder how many reds/suspensions are given out to the "Stars of NY/LA" for the post-game brawl? My educated guess: 0
Marquez gets two additional games for his participation in the whatever you want to call it against LA.
and juninho nothing. while inadvertent, he got in a fight. To me, that's grounds for extra suspensions. Maybe the league should adopt the EPL standard of anything that is a straight red is a 3 match suspension instead of just 1.
If NYRB had advanced Marquez wouldn't have been giving anything else, and Jouninho would have. The league definitely wanted one of the two to advance to the final.
Nice tinfoil hat theory. Too bad for you that the suspensions were announced prior to the NY-LA second leg.
