This is without doubt the worst round -0f-16 CL ever! We'll be lucky if we get 1 good second-leg match. I applied for tickets to Barca x Man City. Kinda hoping I don't get them now. (Had to apply before the first-leg).
So Dortmund can lose 0-2 at home (4-4 agg) and still advance; Zenit needs three in the second leg (and concede none) to have any chance.
HT: Olympiacos 1-0 Man U Can the Greeks extend their five-game UCL home unbeaten streak against English opposition to six? Arsenal (group stage, 2-1 win, 2012-13), Arsenal (group stage, 3-1 win, 2011-12), Arsenal (group stage, 1-0 win, 2009-10), Chelsea (Round of 16 - first leg, 0-0 draw, 2007-08), and Liverpool (group stage, 1-0 win, 2004-05).
Man City... Arsenal... Man United... Will the hopes of Premier League success in the Champions League success rest with Jose Mourinho and his "funny" ways?
FT: Olympiacos 2-0 Manchester United Make that six for the Greeks. Manchester United (Round of 16 - first leg, 2-0 win, 2013-14), Arsenal (group stage, 2-1 win, 2012-13), Arsenal (group stage, 3-1 win, 2011-12), Arsenal (group stage, 1-0 win, 2009-10), Chelsea (Round of 16 - first leg, 0-0 draw, 2007-08), and Liverpool (group stage, 1-0 win, 2004-05).
I guess someone else has had this idea before, but ManU should fire Moyes asap. It's nice to give the new coach a season or two before evaluating the input, and it's nice to try to be a club that offers its coach stability - that said: when results are this bad (after all, this squad won EPL last season), they should realize they offered the long-term job to a wrong man. Why wait til summer? Offer the job for someone tonight until the summer, and then get someone good.
Most of the people are not professional football coaches, and most of the people would have that squad playing better than Moyes.
Apparently only one team has succeded in overturining a 2-0 deficit in the modern CL. I wonder who ....
United should take a look at van Gaal. The guy did wonders for Bayern, perhaps he could help those guys.
Whoa whoa whoa, slow down there, buddy... Don'tcha wanna see if we can poach De Gea on the cheap before Moyes is canned? What about Jose and his crafty ways? Wesley Sneijder, now at Schalke, who are Chelsea's upcoming CL opponent:
Man Real sure have a way with youngsters don't they? Last year they were all singing Morata's praises and calling him the next Raul and bla bla now they are just willing to let him go.
LPB vs Schalke about to start. Not very optimistic for the german team. I guess it depends on KP Boateng's day, who is the one player I see causing havoc in their defense. That is, if he's not hungover
