I did a post in another thread, but I am afraid it get lost there, so I thought it might be a good idea to make a special thread for this. I mean its a big thing, right! so it deserves an extra thread! Hi everybody, longtime reader, first time writer....not sure if this is the right thread, but I thought I post it anyway....cause I couldn´t find anything elsewere, so I am not sure if you guys already know that the best team in the world is coming to the US of A: http://soccer.si.com/2013/11/13/mls...-bayern-for-all-star-game-more-insider-notes/ http://www.abendzeitung-muenchen.de...ten.5ec16373-b487-40ee-87fb-ce87fbbd0de1.html http://www.abendzeitung-muenchen.de...den.a8ee7441-b97f-4ce8-ab1b-6a36dbe63259.html I guess not alot of you guys can read german...a short summary rummenigge confirmed the allstar game in portland and bayern will probably play one or two more games. My guess is one in NYC, there is the new Bayern München US-office and maybe one more in chicago, california or florida (but like I said, that just my opinion)
This is so awesome. Thanks for creating the thread. You're right, this is a huge deal. If it is in New York and Chicago, I might just attend both matches. Will give me a chance to check out those cities, also.
I went to Ft. Lauderdale for the day for Germany vs. Ecuador. My flight came in early in the morning and I had time to spare before the game. I thought it would be a great idea to save money(would have been a $75 cab fare on way) and then take the bus and railway to the stadium. Little did I know the 2 busses I had to take went through the ghetto. I definitely met some interesting people. My favorite was some dad dropping over his 3 kids on the bus(oldest was maybe 8 years old) paying their bus fare, walking out, and then a few stops later the mom screaming because she was picking them up
I have to side with the newbie here. Other than Portland for the whipping against the MLS, I could easily see Chicago and NYC as destinations. Florida just does not seem like a fit to me.
These ain't the buses like in Europe. You sure get an entertainment in people watching on the buses here.
You know, if PPL Park were a little bigger... Okay, if it were A LOT bigger, Philadelphia would be a great stop on the tour.
True, I already hate the public transportation in Chicago, which is why I basically stick to driving my car everywhere here. I just didn't expect to hop on the crack baby bus in Florida lol
I have to admit, in that regard, I love what we have here in Philadelphia. Makes it very easy to get around.
Ours is relatively easy, you just have a bunch of freaks out there. Back when I was in high school, I'd take public transportation and I'd always snap up pics of the different people I encountered. Can't find them anymore
Man, I know the feeling... Although I took the BSL from Fern Rock to City Hall this weekend and missed my stop, got off at Lombard South. Oh, there are still fun folks out there. I will say my experience on the "El" in Chicago was brief, but still not awful.
Regardless, I will be there for at least one of the matches. Sure, I would PREFER it to be in my back yard, but...
Since their US Office will be in NY I could see Bayern playing at Yankee Stadium. I can't see them playing Giants/MetLife Stadium - you'd think they'd actually want to play in NY not in New Jersey.
Exciting news for all FC Bayern München fans in the United States! Check out the following live stream from 1:00 pm ET: www.MLSsoccer.com
Game against Portland on August 6th. No announcement on any other games being played. Come on guys come to Chicago and I'll give you a tour of Chiraq!
Just saying right now.... ...should Bayern come to Chicago... ... it is a MUST that we have a Big Soccer FC Bayern reunion!!!!
I have just read this on the official Bayern website: "Die Partie bildet den Abschluss einer insgesamt einwöchigen USA-Reise des Rekordmeisters. Weitere Details zur Reise sowie zu weiteren Testspielen folgen in den nächsten Wochen." translation: The game (allstar game) marks the end of a week-long trip to the USA a total for the recordchampion. Further details on the trip as well as to other friendlies in the next few weeks. that means there will be probably more than just one more game!!!
