Bayern II have signed 20 year old Swiss central midfielder Etienne Scholz for free from Grasshoppers Zurich. He has been capped once for Switzerland U19. He has been on trial with Bayern II for a few months, and the decision was made to give him a 1 year contract.
FC Bayern II 6:0 Viktoria Aschaffenburg Weihrauch(8), Schwarz(34), Schweinsteiger(41), Weihrauch(51), Green(64), Schweinsteiger(80/PK)
--------T. Schweinsteiger Weiser-Schopf-Weihrauch-Rankovic --------------Strieder Chessa----Buck--Schwarz---Schmitz --------------Zingerle Subs: Green -> Schmitz (46.), Sallahi -> Chessa (68.), Fischer -> Schopf (54.) Green and Weihrauch now have 5 goals each in 7 games.
New coach doesn't rate him. Wein is a top talent IMO, but he is short for a CB (not even 6 foot) and injury prone. Edwin Schwarz is starting to look like a very good young CB too.
Will Mitchell Weiser be spending most of the time with the Bayern II team? I'd rather see him loaned out again for more experience.
I haven't heard anything, but it certainly doesn't make sense to keep him on a 4th division side when he was playing in the 2nd division last season. I hope they are trying to loan him. Bayern II has plenty of wingers anyways.
Julian Green called up to Germany U19. Leopold Zingerle, Benno Schmitz, and Mitchell Weiser called up to the U20 along with Vladimir Rankovic as an alternate. An impressive achievement for our young RB Benno Schmitz, who is only 18.
Green looks like the real deal. I hope he chooses to play for the German senior team if given the opportunity in the future.
Yes but that is not an excuse for an U19 team. The players are supposed to be promoted in 1-2 years and replaced by new talent. The players that are on the U19 team now were shite last year on the U17 team as well. There were mistakes made with this group of players whether it was scouting or coaching they have not been performing.
On a brighter note Bayern II has still been dominating, even without Green and Hojbjerg. With a 100% fit squad they will be scary good and favorites to be promoted back to the 3. Liga, which would be a huge boost to our youth program.
It depends on the draw IMO. If they get the champion from the West or the South-West division your reserve will probably need some addition from the first team to have a chance.
I was just thinking, it's a good thing for the youth players we have now that Guardiola utilizes players in multiple positions. Many of our best youth players are good in more than one position. Schmitz - RB, CM Hojbjerg - CM, AM, RM, LM Green - LM, RM, False 9 Schopf - AM, CM, RM Rankovic - RM, RB Weihrauch - AM, False 9, RM Weiser - LM, RM, RB, LB
I understand the thinking behind Pierre and his ability to play good in more than one position but he's not a RM or LM and he'll never be. I know that he played some games there in FCB II and against Nurnberg but his future is definitely on CM and AM.
He also scored for Bayern II last weekend. He's only played 3 full matches for Bayern II and scored 3 times. The kid is barely 18 and has been the best player on the U23 team for some time now. He is looking like a massive talent. Julian Green also got another goal, taking his total to 11 goals in 12 matches. He is also just 18.
Great goals by Höjbjerg. Especially the 1-2, wow! He's going to be the next big thing. Potential heir to Bastian Schweinsteiger already in our ranks.
Pierre is in my opinion the best in his age. There's no one better than him. Scholl and Tarnat both said that Schweinsteiger wasn't on Pierre's level when he was on his age.
Friesenbichler came on in the 80th minute against 1860 Rosenheim and scored 2 goals to give Bayern II a 2-1 victory after Rosenheim scored a header in the very first minute over the weekend. Bayern II have a 5 point lead at the top of the table despite having played 2 less games than 2nd placed Illertissen.
