I won while TIE last night. Not sure whether to TIE again next week or not - guy just took over a team this week and lost to the fourth place team but it is much closer than it had been against the previous owner.

Run rate always increases in the last 10 overs for all teams

but i think if his bowlers had better stamina then they would bowl better and the run rate would not have gone up as much as it did.

    nice win.

Possibly, but even my bowlers with good stamina concede more runs in the last 10 overs.

The Battrick match engine is trying to reflect the real nature of the actual game, which is in the last 10 overs, the batsmen really increase their tempo and go for broke.

gotcha. but in that regards wouldn't the bowlers attitude towards the match change if they were keeping the run rate down with 10 overs left?

Well they should be more likely to get more wickets, so a very good bowler with high bowling skills AND good stamina should be able to do that.

my fitness level and team morale updated already.

    kidna weird, isn't it?

i mean the morale is at pessimistic which i figured would happen anyway because I'm going to lose this match, but still, it happened before the match or during as opposed to after

Big week in my series as the top 4 teams all play each other.

I'm up against the #3 and looks like its already in the bag...

here's the thing... if a team has several wickets in hand they've got to take more risks than usual if there are only a few overs left... it means like kopite said there'll be a greater chance for wickets, but that's how it goes in cricket... generally the first 15 overs and the last 10 overs (15 if there are less than 3 wickets down) are usually periods when batsmen take some risks.

Bowled them out for 148 and now I'm 23/1 in reply. Should have no problems despite the TIE.

En route to a ten-wicket TIE victory against one of the semi-competitive teams in the series. The bowlers get most of the credit here as the opposition was bowled out for 107-10, setting up an easy chase. We're currently at 94-0 after 17 overs. Make that 103-0 after 18, the next over or two will finish it.

My ratings are getting sick even on TIE. We put up superb top-order batting and proficient seam bowling today.

won by 8 wickets and I think I'll normal my cup match and hope for the best. I don't know how/why my spin bowling ratings are so high... its been better than my seam bowling for 2 weeks and I've got one spinner and 4 seamers and my pitch is cracked... I'm debating swapping to slow to help him out (mind you he's not been taking wickets... 5 on the season).

I batted 288-3, normally I'd be happy with that but through 36 overs the opposition is at 219-1. I need to get some wickets.

Now that just pisses me off. They got their third wicket because some lucky schmuck caught the ball with his ********.

    And the second wicket:
So I get screwed by a guy catching the ball with his scrotum and and blown call by the ump, fantastic.

Seriously though, I need a 3rd batter. I had two players hit centuries today but only totalled 288 runs.

Voodoo Child scored the winning 289th run in the 46th over. I had better top order, middle order, and fielding ratings and Voodoo only had better Spin bowling (I don't have any spin bowlers) but I guess playing on the dusty pitch meant that their spin bowling won it for them. match id: 112489
