I wound up with a win by 74 runs. 258-9 to 184-10. The last out was the second wicket taken by my lone spin bowler, described as "pitched about a foot outside off and come back sharply through a massive gate taking the off stump with it." Both of the top teams lost today, so things may be tightening up a little bit. The club I play today never plays friendlies, I don't know if they're at risk of becoming inactive.

Its over... we took them to the wire, well, almost to the wire, but my bowlers could not get the wickets and in the end 274 for that team is childsplay... on the bright side, this is their 2nd lowest total. They did it w/ 3 overs and 5 wickets to spare though... I'm crestfallen... we'd won like 6 games in a row including friendlies and I was hoping to make a push for a podium spot. Its all over now.

    First page.

Do friendlies matter? I think I've played one before. I really should figure out how to play this game sometime.

edit: turns out I've won my last 3 league games. I rule.

Is morale like team spirit? Does anyone else have morale over the moon?

i'm not sure what the importance is with friendlies, besides some money from tickets, and being able to mess around with your lineup

Less so than in Hattrick, since players get training regardless of whether they've played. They are still helpful for keeping up form (same as HT), and moderately useful for testing out new things, with that use somewhat limited by the makeshift lineups you may be playing against.

e.g. of late, I'm playing considerably worse bowlers in my friendlies, so you can't necessarily draw any conclusions from the scores you put up.

No, morale is like confidence. Fitness is like team spirit.

Somehow I beat the #1 team in my league! I moved from last to 5th. :D

I honestly have no clue what I am doing though. I have my same players I've had the whole time. I don't want to risk going out to buy anyone because I have no clue what players are worth to buy or sell and don't want to screw myself over somehow.

    Re: Battrick thread

III.10? I always play that Vortex United guy for my friendlies (he's the only one that accepts when I do remember to send them out) and I smoke him. How is he leading your division? Last time we played I held him to a total of 63 runs. :D

I was wondering if it's like hattrick where you shouldn't have more than 10 coaches. I see you only have 10 as well, do you know if this is how it works, or is that just a coincidence?

its impossible to have more than 10 coaches... or maybe its possible, but you only have 10 training slots...

btw... unless u've got a pretty good wicketkeeping trainee.. u are wasting those 2 training slots... I'm sure u've got a stud bowler/batsman u could use them on to make his bowling/batting better.

    Junior Mason - 19 yo, BT Rating=8,763
LH Batsman, LM Bowler, competent form, Healthy
A defensive player with strong leadership skills and worthless experience.
    Stamina: feeble Wicket Keeping: respectable
    Batting: mediocre Concentration: mediocre
    Bowling: feeble Consistency: woeful
    Fielding: respectable

    Runako Ross - 18 yo, BT Rating=7,998

A cautious player with feeble leadership skills and worthless experience.
    Stamina: abysmal Wicket Keeping: strong

I'm not sure I'd change them. Very nice youngsters. I wonder what would happen if you got more WK coaches and gave these guys more net time each week. Have either of them popped yet?

What sort of seating ratios are you using?I just ordered an expansion to 13K with 50% standing, 30% seated, 17% covered, 3% members. I don't know if I've sold out yet because I haven't paid BT much attention but I felt like spending some money.

50% standing, about 8% members, then the remaining 42% between the other two categories with more in the uncovered seating that covered seating.

I don't remember exactly where to find it (somewhere in sledging, I think), but there's a canonical ratio to use, similarly to in Hattrick. I'm not at it myself only because I didn't want to start out building that many seats.
