Come on, man. These guys are pros coming in from Europe during the winter to play in 89 heat in the middle of the day.
No one else is talking about this. CAMERON IS NOT A CENTER BACK ANYMORE! The guy barely plays the position anymore and I think playing him there now is a mistake b/c he obviously isnt doing well. 2nd goal wouldnt have happened if he just did a simple body of the defender
True, but if it weren't for Chandler jerking around in the corner, there would have never been a set piece in the first place.
Forget tactics, what's the deal with these dudes? No passion, no drive, no grit. This has been a problem for the last few games. It's like they just don't care compared to years past. I'm not feeling this set up. America, ....f-******** yeah? P.S. Considering the heat and conditions, you would think the smart thing to do would play our Mexico based players a little more.
That might be the case, but at 1-1 with some 10 mins to go, you have to tighten up that defense something serious. Of all people, Cameron should know that but he felt his Ambien kicking in, and that was that. 1) the ball is in your channel 2) you have a beat on the forward 3) you fail to boot that ball to the 24th row That's 3, count em, THREE opportunities he allowed for the winning goal. If anyone Gould be making that mistake it's the rookie Gonzalez, not Cameron. How often do you see that in top flight English football, let alone a qualifier in Honduras?!? Cameron can f*ck back off to Stoke on Trent for all I care. Piss poor!
Future USA Starting XI if we want wins: ---------------Altidore------------- -Shea-------Dempsey---Donovan -------Bradley-------Jones---------- Johnson--Gonzo-Cameron-Chandler ----------------Howard-----------------
Bradley and set pieces cost us this game as welll - what a joke Why is Klestjan still playing on this team?
This is something that has troubled me as well. In the past, the one thing you could say about players in the national team was that they were athletic/fit and were always working towards the result. Perhaps tactically and technically they were lacking, but they always fought and never gave up. Slowly as players improve and start playing in better leagues, they seem to not have that hell or highwater attitude.
Yeah around since Jones started playing for us. Coincidence? To be fair, Jermaine did have a nice assist today.........his 3rd in 27 games?
My issue is why is Kljestan playing on the wing? Had he subbed in for Jones, I would have had no issue with it. But he subbed in for Eddie who was our only speed threat and didn't even look gassed! Most of Kljestan's terrible plays today were on the touchline isolated - situation you want a winger for, not a CM.
That wasn't my point but I don't see him going anywhere for at least two years. He may be sold going into his final year of the contract but he hasn't even had a full year yet.
Really people? After watching the previous qualifying round and the way this team labored to overcome the "powerhouses" of Jamaica, Guatemala and Antigua, did any of you seriously expected bloody Spain to suddenly show up wearing red stripes? Please get real, this is what you have, no more no less. No Pep Guardiola, Ferguson or Trappatoni can wave a magic wand and transform a collection of ok, just ok players into a world power. But don't worry, the good news is that this is still Concacaf, and the USNT should, despite showings like today's, be playing in Brazil next year. And yes, JK will still be the coach.
If that were true, I wouldn't be upset. But when you bring one speed guy, 54 central midfielders, one winger, and start "two freshman" centerbacks that never play together in the back; the error is now "who we are" but who and how we played - and the decisions made before the game ever started,
