I wish we would play a 4-4-2 with Jozy and Gomez up top and Dempsey as an attacking midfielder. It's disappointing that Jozy won't get to start despite his great form. For this game I think we might see a 4-1-3-2 with Williams playing as the defensive midfielder. We'll see.

Just for the hell of it I looked up some of our all time road records against hex opponents in qualifying.

    Costa Rica: 0-1-5
    Honduras: 3-1-0
    Jamaica: 0-4-1
    Mexico: 0-1-13
    Panama: 1-1-0

I know it's meaningless but historically Honduras has been quite good to us

I just remembered that the last time I watched us play @ Honduras in a WCQ, I wasn't even a Big Soccer member yet.:D

For the first time in a while, I actually really like the lineup. This is the exact lineup that I wanted to see. Gomez is a lot better in a super sub role, and its time for Gonzalez to take over from Bocanegra. Otherwise, we aren't playing with three DM's, and no Torres, so I am happy with the lineup.

    Now reward that confidence.

Wish he gave mike the arm band but that's a nitpick

So its a 4-4-2 with Williams at right mid and people are happy? I would be happier if it plays out as a 4-3-3 - still not sold on Eddie Johnson but we lack wide players at this point

I see it as a 4-3-3 with Williams as the lone D-mid, Bradley and Jones box to box.

Well, 4-3-3/4-5-1. Big surprise with no Bocanegra. Surprised no Herc. Surprised Bradley doesn't have the armband. Glad no Zusi. Overall, I'm cool with it. I'd have started Boca, but I'm fine with Gonzo.

    I'm assuming:

    -------------Howard-------------
    TC----Gonzo----Cameron---Fabian
    -------------Williams-------------
    ---------Bradley----Jones--------
    Dempsey----Altidore------EJ

That is my hope but its not written that way. With the way its written the semi colons are showing a 4-4-2 with Williams on the right

I love it if its a 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 diamond with EJ up top... but if its a flat 4-4-2 with Williams on the right than I am going to break something

This will be Altidore's last game for a while if he doesn't produce today.

Great lineup. I'd rather see Altidore and Eddie in there instead of Zusi and Gomez. Plus Gonzo instead of Boca is nice. Great lineup, very glad to see Wahl was wrong.

I don't see why. Especially if he keeps producing for his club. Altidore is without a doubt our best forward.
