So I'm new to Baton Rouge (well not really...I've been here since late July) and was wondering if anyone knows any cool and interesting places to go to. My sister lives here but she doesn't do touristy things. I hope it's not all about LSU because then I'm screwed LOL

You drive 90 minutes or so to New Orleans.

Other than eating, I can't think of much. Juban's, Mike Anderson and Drusilla were good places to eat about 20 years ago. No idea if they still are in business. Try to make friends with people who throw crawfish boils. That's all I've got. Plus what Barbara said.

Haha that's what I fgured. One thing that I did a few times was go downtown for free concerts Sunday afternoons. They even somehow got to sell beer. Too bad EBRP is a dry parish on Sundays. If they weren't I bet people would go drink at some of the bars downtown then go listen to some free music. It sorta sucks that downtown BR isn't that big of an attraction because it's a beautiful place that the city and businesses can capitilize on. If they built a casino or a new movie theather and some sort of entertainment center other than River Center, people would flock downtown.
