GameInformer gave B:AC a 10 out of 10, calling it "the best licensed video game ever made".

This game reminds of Assassin's Creed in that the sequels are VERY similar to the first games, just more expansive. but those games are so good, treading over familiar ground isn't the worst thing in the world.
loving it so far ... just defeated Ra's al Guhl.

my save file got deleted .... no idea how. opened up the game and it wasn't there, so I'm having to start all over. crap. I had beat the joker the first time, did the catwoman level and then some side stuff after that. grrrrrr

Same thing happened to me. I was at about 40% overall completion (68% main story completion) and the save disappeared. I am not happy about it.

So it's happening again with the deleted saves? It happened to me in Arkham Asylum. Got all the way to the end only for the save to get corrupted.

If this happens to me in AC I will fly to England and pistol whip Rocksteady employees.

i've never had it happened before .... and I'm reserving the opinion that I accidentally hit wrong button or my seven-year old was checking things out.
but if I was a betting man, I'd say neither of those happened.

I guess the only good part is I'm doing things in a bit different order this time and so it's making things a bit easier in that regards. and i'm blazing through those parts i've already done.

    9.5 is fair.

There is much too do in the game, however the boss battles were underwhelming for me.

Note, I like to play games on the hardest difficulty from the start.

Truth be told my favorite boss battle of the last five years has to be the Poison Ivy battle in AA. It was one of those battles were you had to really concentrate in order to succeed, and kudos to the game designers for not going the Dead Space 2 route of just having enemies pop out of nowhere.

So, when it came to Arkham City, I honestly can't think of any boss battle that really asked me to focus, and that was disappointing.

    The voicemails were hilarious!!!

I have high hopes for this game. But I would be very surprised if I find the experience as spellbinding as the first playthrough of KOTOR...

it's an amazing guy (aside from the save issues). I played it a THIRD time (the first time I was like 10 percent in, the second 40 percent) and am no about 70 percent done.

It's a fantastic game. So much to do, looks amazing. you'll enjoy it

Some crazy Black Friday deals today through Origin (the EA store) ... 50% off B:AC and BF3. Hopefully Santa recognizes the subtlety of my email.

Well, that was kinda the point. Best licensed video game ever is stiff competition, cause while there have been some truly awful licensed games, KOTOR and TIE Fighter are damn near legendary. And that's to say nothing of Goldeneye...

Why the fat Batman? Is that batman when he's old(er)?

Anyway, just brought this. Initially I think the update ********ed up, because it kept crashing mid game. Seems sorted now though.

First impressions after 3 hours play. A tiny bit disappointed. So far it seems identical to the first one fighting wise. I like that there is more freedom to move around, but the map is a lot smaller than I'd hoped. I also thought I'd be picking up more side quests, but so far apart from the weak riddler, political rescues and bane asides, I'm just going through the main quest. It's still good, but my expectations were huge after reading the reviews. Hopefully it will pick up when I get some more hours in.

That's Batman from Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns, an alternate story in which an older Bruce Wayne (I think in his 50's) comes out of superhero retirement to become Batman again.

In any case, the skins are from (from left to right):

    1. Batman Beyond
    2. The Dark Knight Returns
    3. Batman: Earth-One
    4. 1970's/1980's Batman
    5. Batman: The Animated Series
    6. Batman: Arkham Asylum / Arkham City

    Sorry to hear that.

I made the stupid mistake of getting this whilst I was still in the middle of my Skyrim play-through. Looks like Skyrim will be put on hold for a bit...

Having played it a few hours now I can say that as much as I loved Arkham Asylum, this game is far superior. The main difference is the environment, which feels a lot more open and free to roam than in its predecessor.

I ordered it a few days ago. It should be here soon. I never played the first one but I'm a huge Batman fan so I'm going to like this no matter what.

This game is arriving and I'm thinking of getting Skyrim soon but I'm scared. I want to have a social life for the next months.

I still don't have the feeling I'm at the halfway point in Skyrim and I'm afraid to think about the amount of time I have devoted to it already...
