Why is he watching Funes Mori he already has Higuain. I can understand if hes watching Bounanontte and Lanzini but FM9?

What happens if Higauin gets injured, put all our hopes on Milito? Never hurts to have options, Viatri and Boselli too deserve to be looked at.

Ferrari deserves a look for sure, because it's really a misery in Argentina to find good laterales.
And yes Viatri deserves a look too, since we dont players of his characteristics.

Come on, let's be serious, Buonanotte isnt good enough right now (i'm saying right now! maybe if he will regain form later) to be called up. Lanzini...? Well, he's sub-20 material even though being born in 1993.

I think Batista was probably watching Ferrari, Carrizo, FM9, and Buonanotte.

Right now, Buonanotte is no where near his best game, but we know that when he is right, he is NT material. It still blows my mind that Batista played El Enano only 1 game in the Olympics. Scores a great goal, then never again...

Ferrari is easily the best right back we have. I noticed Zanetti is mainly playing as a 5 at Inter, and Zabaleta isn't even playing at all for Manchester. That and Ferrari has been deserving of a spot for years...

Funes Mori should be Higuain's back up. Milito has never done anything for Argentina, and he'll be up there by the next world cup.

also remember, Batista is still very much involved with the Under 20's and there are a number of River players in the Under 20s and with the championships coming in January, he is eying them. Lanzini for sure should be included the kid's skills are incredible

I know we need options but isnt Lisandro Lopez an option? how many goals and good seasons does he need to have to be considered as a sub? and i mentioned Bounanontte and Lanzini cause they fit Batista's system.

Lanzini is 17 and has never even played a full 90 minute match yet. I think he is an obvious crack but don't get carried away. we'll see what happens, but for now he hasn't been called to the under 20's yet

Come on, people are serious with Funes Mori? Look, the kid has massive potential (and under Cappa's management he is slowly but surely fulfilling it) but right now, he's only sub-20 material at most!
However, I wouldnt be surprised if Batista call him for the local NT since we have several games planned (against Brazil especially).

At River, they consider FM9, the next Higuain.

well the similarities are pretty clear. FM9 is the same age as Higuain when he broke out in 2006. The only difference is, with Passarella we will hopefully keep him and get more out of him, both in terms of service to river and money from transfer fee, two things we did not get out of Higuain (although we know why)

Source for this? I know they have started training so the lineup will be out soon. But Gago is out, Banega or Cambiasso will take his place. No Demicheles, that's good.

I agree about Demichelis. As far as Heinze, I'm not sure that right now there is a better option. Not because he's great, but because we are weak at the position.

I would play Zanetti at LB and someone else at RB. Ferrari or Zabaleta or Angeleri.

    Good, Banega and G Milito
I prefer Higuin over Milito though

But they're playing with 3 strikers again? Tevez will probably to turn into midfielder again during the match.

Yeah I read that on Ole as well. Can we take a guess as to the formation?
    Romero
    Zanetti Burdisso Milito Heinze
    ___l \_________________l
    « Masche »
    ____l \
    Messi Banega D'Alessandro Tevez
    __l \ ___l \ ______/ l ______/ l
    Milito
    Could this be the formation?

With Banega falling back to link up with Masche and D'Alessandro moving up centrally to link to Messi Tevez and Milito?
