The highest estimates you've heard are 10%. Bollocks. There are players on record as saying that they believe it's much higher than that. Caminiti, Schilling, Gwynn, so on and so forth. The roid era isn't coming to a close, and if it is, it's only because HGH is safer and better. The game supports drug testing because it gets the public off their back and because HGH is difficult to detect. Sport is laden with drugs, and I don't see how anybody over the age of 10 doesn't realise this. Baseball is basically a victim of a witch hunt here, which annoys the everlasting crap out of me as other sports, namely the NFL, get off scot free. By the way, I'm offering 3/1 Bonds gets convicted. Four years to get an indictment with no Anderson? Heh. They couldn't even get him on the tax evasion case.
Bonds is just the scrapegoat for the rest of steriod users in baseball. Just because he has amazing talent in locating the pitch makes him one of the toughest players in baseball to pitch against ever. Steroids add power, but they dont make you good
Bonds is the most obnoxious, arrogant scapegoat amongst the rest of steroid users in baseball, therefore he invites the most negative attention.
Exactly. There may be other roid users out there, and indeed there are admitted ones like Giambi and probably McGwire. But they have either asked forgiveness and stopped doing what they were doing in Giambi's case. Or just faded away and hide out quietly in their gated community in McGwire's case. Bonds insists on continuing to lie about his roids, and insists on being big obnoxious and arrogant about the whole thing. If he'd just admitted his fault or retired when the heat got turned up and faded away he'd be sitting on some beach this offseason sipping mojitos, instead of contemplating going to federal pound me in the ass prison.
