The Cycle just discussed with young Russert the preferred drinking games for tonight: drink for 'red state' or 'blue state' drink for 'too close to call' BIG drink for any local elections rep interview about 'how things are going'
Hell, my wife grew up in PA and when Nixon is mentioned, she still chants, "Nixon, Nixon, he's our man; Humphrey's in the garbage can!" She even cried when the bastard died... Boat drinks sounds like a good idea.
You know how Republicans are always talking about dead people voting? Well, this happened in Detroit, so.
BTW, the NYC ballot. This one only has three languages. http://www.vote.nyc.ny.us/pdf/sample_ballots/G/MN/2012G1V1_Style_11.pdf
The campaign is shifting volunteers around like mad to fill holes in the system in Ohio and Virginia and Florida.
Hard to believe that anything could surprise either campaign on election day. They must have a massive amount of data by now.
Well those would be the critical states, if Romney doesn't win all 3 his path to the White House is nearly impossible.
True story: Obama could lose all 3 of those and still get 271 if he holds Colorado, Iowa and New Hampshire.
In Chicago we vote for commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District. I voted straight GreenParty there. I say when it comes to water reclamation vote for the poo party.
I'm not really sure what "holes in the system" means, but it sounds important. Probably you should start drinking.
Thanks. Oregon liquor stores actually carry mixers and things like bitters, grenadine, cherries, all that crap. We have Cost Plus World Market, but none are geographically convenient. If the liquor store doesn't have it, I'll just use more simple syrup, I guess. Thanks for the info.
So what does "holes in the system" refer to? Is this related to Obama's get out the vote effort in each state?
That's a different problem, and it needs to be nipped in the bud. Not all of the voting problems are arising because Reeps are trying to supress minority votes. Some are caused by sheer bureaucratic incompetence and/or unwise budget cutting. Everything isn't a conspiracy and everything isn't an existential threat to our way of life. I'm fairly happy that so many of the voter suppression efforts were squelched in the courts, which is evidence that the system is still working.
Meh. I have this hunch that there's a disaster prone state in the Southeast that had a good long reflection about life without FEMA last week.
