As we have some for some other big games, we would like to have a banner painting party to "welcome" ;-p the cows to RFK on April 2. This will take place on Sunday, March 26 beginning at 1 pm in parking lot 7 behind the RFK auxiliary fields (enter from Oklahoma Ave, NE). If you have been to the reserve games, just drive past the second field and viola, that's the place. MAP- http://www.dcsec.com/parking/pdfs/rfkflyer.pdf We will fund and provide the painting supplies (but we could use some people to help purchase them), but we need slogan ideas and your paint rolling skills. The more people we have the faster we'll be done. We will also need about 10-15 people to go in early on game day (before the tailgate!) to help put them up so if you can't help paint, please consider helping to hang up. If you can help or for more information contact Kim at kim@screaming-eagles.com ALL DC UNITED SUPPORTERS ARE INVITED K
I implore you, STRETCH FIRST BEFORE PAINTING AND DO NOT GET DRUNK BEFOREHAND WHILE WATCHING A MATCH AT YOUR LOCAL. That is all.... heh.
This will be the first banner painting party I'll miss. I'll be driving home from Charleston, sorry Kim. The banner painting parties are always good fun.
Yeah, I realized some people would be coming back from Charleston but I was worried that if I waited until April 1 and it rained we'd be screwed (so April 1 is our back up rain date). K
I'm in the back seat, catching some zzzzzz's Who are you? Lalas: Schmo or Joe? (Lexi is on the show pro or joe on spike). Pay your taxes Lexi update your resume Witness Protection rejects
I like some on the other thread under supporters groups, especially Where are your Wings? NY: 2 wings DC: 4 Cups there are some other decent ideas over there too. The Red is different, the Bull is the same just popped into my mind
I like that. Also, let me offer my suggestion (stolen from Matthai's description of death at an abbatoir): Welcome to the Slaughterhouse
I sure hope so Whatever anti-Bull ones get done should be the most visible from the visitor's benches Like on the upper rail behind our sections
Kim, If you don't feel like you've gotten enough done that weekend, give me a shout and I'll help do more on April 1.
OK, there might be a small snag. I just assumed that the there would be a Hispanic league club match on that day and the lot would be open but alas, it's not. Checking to see if it can be opened (to be honest, I thought it was open all the time anyway) but if not we may have to move this shindig. K
Other public spaces? Meridian Park isn't well used and there's a ton of parking on weekend days (night? could be a problem).
Are you talking about the park near Adams Morgan or some place else? (the park in AM is pretty busy on a Sunday). K
The one off 15th and V streets. That might be it. We could just take over another RFK lot, couldn't we? Or part of the old racetrack?
Entering any lot without permission would be trespassing (and yeah, there's a pretty good chance in the outer most areas no one would even know we were there), however we the SEs need to maintain a positive relationship with RFK so we would not condone this. K
