Re: Park Sheng Ho Andre Agassi's dad duct taped a racket to his hands when he was a kid. Curious, if any of your kids are baller enough to represent national teams would you push them to represent the ROK?
Re: Park Sheng Ho I wouldn't push them. I would leave it up to them. If someone was very talented it wouldn't be a bad thing to play for the US, higher exposure for Koreans but still have the adoration of the homies.
Re: Park Sheng Ho mm...that's not it. The kid wearing the teal jersey in the clip is Lee Jung-bin, who is atm playing for Incheon's youth team. and...below is a clip of Baek Seung-ho. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MNARksC52Q"]YouTube- Park Sheng-Ho (FC Barcelona)[/ame]
Re: Park Sheng Ho that whole team seems pretty good. specially for 12-14 year olds. he definitely stands out.
He's currently playing for Barcelona Infantil (U-14), meaning there are still four youth squads he'll have to play for (Juvinil A, Juvinil B, Cadete A, and Cadete B), until he gets anywhere near Barcelona Atletic squad which is where he'll start being considered to play for the A side. The Infantil level is actually the first stage of Barcelona's youth development program where kids are introduced to playing 11 on 11 matches. I would consider him a "success" if he survives and plays for Juvinil A (U-19). That should be enough to get him a contract for a decent club somewhere in Europe. If he manages to turn pro and gets a contract to play for Barcelona Atletic (currently in the Spanish second division), that probably means he's good enough to land a deal at any mid-table club in Europe's top three leagues (e.g. Mikel Arteta).
There are players on Barcelona Atletic and Juvenil A who would easily b-slap the likes of Lee Seung-ryul and Kim Bo-kyung and still struggle to get into the A team. I have hard time believing that Baek Seung-ho will show Messi(or even Bojan or Pedro)-like progress, which means he'll either climb up the ladder step by step, or get cut before he turns 18. Getting cut at the Juvenil level is no shame, however, as getting that far will probably help him draw plenty of interest from all across Europe. His short-term goal should be surviving the Cadete level and reaching Juvenil A by the time he's 17.
if hes good enough he will advance. if he proves he can handle his age group with ease he will get pushed up just like the dos santos bros, borjan, messi, etc. if not he can be like other fabregas, pique, arteta, etc who find success elsewhere. we shall see in a few years. but from what it sounds he was already playing with older kids before (granted in korea) and impressed enough to be given a spot in the academy. lets not get all pessimistic just yet. just like Nam and Son he could have the goods as well.
they both are known historically for having the best. both have produced world class players. i would say that ajax is better only because they been doing it longer.
In my opinion, it seems that recently Barcelona has passed ajax. The amount of talent coming out of the Barcelona youth program is amazing. Messi, Iniesta, Fabregas, Pique, Busquet, Pedro, Gio Dos Santos, Jona Dos Santos, Gai Assulin, Bojan, etc.
