Why would Jones want a loan deal to have a portion of his salary covered for 2010-2011, and then move onto a worse deal for 2012, when he has a contract to 2014? Only way the loan makes sense is if he returns at the end of it; could imagine a desperate team doing a nice financial split to have him for half a year, but then back to the same boat in 2012 (unless he plays so well that he can command another similar deal).

He's probably better off trying to outlast Magath...

Magath is making €5M/Y himself.

He ain't quitting and Schalke ain't firing him.

And, yes, Jermaine can ride this contract out if he wants to de facto retire at 29.

But he probably wants both the money and the career.

And the WC in 2014.

I'm not sure I'd leave the beach either with the likes of his wife tending to things...

1. Go to Schalke reserves and be benched and berated by Magath in the press... or 2. hang out in Miami Beach with my milf wife in a bikini...



Option 2 looks good for the moment... hopefully his agent is working out the details for some sort of transfer or loan... I don't see him and Magath working any in-team resolution at this point...

I was in the Tampa Bay area till Monday, and it wasn't exactly beach/poolside weather. Maybe it is warm enough in Miami, but I wonder if these are some archive photos Bild dug up during the break.

A couple of days in the 70's ... warm enough to wear only three layers of clothing.

They are from 2007.

he wouldn't have to take a worse deal for the next season.

he can go on loan now, his salary stays the same, only schalke and the club he's loaned out to share the cost. the difference being, he gets to play.

after the loan is over, his schalke contract is still valid until 2014.

Jones is reported to be in England hammering out the final details, and likely getting his medical. I would expect an announcement soon.
