Keep in mind that it is asking for the AVERAGE. I'm looking for the middle payroll, not the top payroll nor the bottom. Your best guess please.

If you have links to news articles with helpful information, feel free to post. I can use the google translator to translate them to English.

p.s. The reason I'm restarting this thread because I am very curious about the answer. An identical thread was closed by the Moderator because it has a poll. Since this one doesn't have one, I hope it will not be closed.

Average player payroll (salary + transfer fee) for a FMF Primera División club: your best guess

by the way: I have no interest in filling the Mexico forum with polls. I have been posting on BigSoccer since 2003 and how many polls have I made in this forum? Probably less than 4 in eight years here.

If possible, please close this thread and open the other one (the one with the poll). If not, I can make do with this one.

Just need to find the answer.

    Anyone know the answer?

    Even a guess would do.

that's nice, but you littered the beautiful game forum with your nonsense, and looks like you might start that here.

I heard somewhere that the Mexican League had 350 million in sponsorships, which averages out to 20 million a team. The Mexican League is probably similar to Brazilian teams based on that Brazil has 200 million people and Mexico has 110 million but with the addition of the US market the money is about the same or higher. Also, how would Mexican teams be able to pay transfer fees in the millions if they were not on par with Brazilian teams. I think Mexican teams are so secretive that there is no way we will ever find out how much they make.

Those numbers are bs. The numbers aren't released, so it's all a best guess. Why are MLS'ers so obsessed with finding out our FMF payrolls?

I know Aron Galindo (Chivas) makes $200,000 USD a month.

Ramon Morales (Chivas) used to Make $95,000 USD a month

That's 24,000,000 dollars in ten years. That's too much money for a defender. Chivas should have left him in Europe instead of paying him that kind of salary.

Ramoncito Morales deserved his 1.4 million dollar a year contract. He's a player worthy of that type of salary.

I wonder what Memo Ochoa, Sinha, Ludueña, Leandro, Vicente Sanchez and company are getting paid. The Mexican teams are secretive when it comes salaries and payroll, but it is no secret they are (by far....really far) the wealthiest clubs in the Americas.

Don't remember where I heard or read this, but Memo Ochoa is the highest paid player in the FMF. Have no idea what the quantity is though.

I don't know about that. I would think Brazilian clubs are top in the Americas spending wise.

    Source?

I do not think you are going to find an answer, I would guess Club America has the highest salaries. No clue how much the players make.

Actually the Monterey teams are notorious for paying players a lot, even more than America.

exactly, they have a lower profile but they pay good money, a guy like luis perez who at one point went for a lot of money from Necaxa to Monterrey is probably among the best paid players in the league. There's a reason why when young up and coming players that don't play for either America, Guadalajara or Cruz Azul when asked which clubs they would like to play for the names of both clubs from monterrey always come out.

So 200K for one of their highest paid players, lets say Bravo and Bofo make the same, thay would be 600K with Venado, Magallon, Reynoso and Mitchel making from 50K to 100K and everyone else making under 50K

    that would be about

    600K + lets say 400K + (25*50K) = 2,250,000 USD would be the Chivas Salary.

That looks way to low, Bravo and Bofo must be making a lot more, does any one know how much is he supposed to get from K.C.?

Aaron Galindo makes 200k a month. So for 6 months that he will be in active thats about, 1.2 million dollars Vergara will have to pay for a player not playing for Chivas at the moment. His Contract was for four years. So that is about 6MD?

2.4 Per year would make more sense I guess, but the article is not specific:

"Dos millones de pesos en el aire. Dos millones de pesos que Chivas tendrá que depositar a un activo que estará parado por lo menos seis meses.
Aarón Galindo no agarró equipo y se quedará sin jugar, pero como tiene contrato por dos años y medio más con el Rebaño, los de Verde Valle tienen la obligación de cumplir con lo pactado.
El salario del defensor capitalino es cercano a los 200 mil dólares, un capítulo que se cerró de manera negativa para los de rojo y blanco.
    "

They do not say monthly, weekly, yearly, per season.

The first sentence would read to me that 2 million pesos is for 6 months.

OK, that helps, like i said 2.4 mil per year sounds about right, Bravo and Bofo probably make about the same.

Then Reynoso, Medina and Mitchell, I wonder if they make a million per? Ramon Morales did.

So for those 6 players we could say 10 Million. The other 20 players another 10 Million?

20 Million per year seems kind of high.

Great thread - I've also been really curious about FMF salaries. I guess we could figure this out based on revenues (a max of 50% of revenue going to salary expenses.

The question would be: what is the avg. attendance for FMF games + average price of ticket? what kind of tv deal is there in mexico/espn deportes or mexican american audience?

Edit: here are the stadium sizes from wikipedia for biggest clubs:

    santos - capacity 30,000
    monterrey - 30,000
    chivas - 45,000
    cruz azul - 35,000
    morelia - 41,000
    pachuca - 31,000
    atlas - 56,700
    puebla - 42,000
    toluca - 27,000
    pumas - 62,000
    tigres - 43,000

So assuming about 75% capacity they probably draw double MLS crowds (let's say an avg of 30,000 per game) and maybe a little more tv revenue than MLS so I'd say $50-60 million would probably be a good guess. Salaries are probably at 20 million for the higher teams like Cruz Azul
