Vienna 2 - 1 SCR Altach Rapid Wien 3 - 0 TSV Hartberg LASK 0 - 1 SV Ried Austria Lustenau 0* - 0 SV Grödig Blau-Weiß Linz 0 - 1 SV Mattersburg Vorwärts Steyr 0 - 1 Sturm Graz Austria Wien 2 - 1 Wacker Innsbruck SV Kapfenberg 2 - 0 FC Lustenau Bundesliga teams won all their games against lower-division clubs. The only two to bow out in this round, Wacker Innsbruck and LASK, lost to fellow Bundesliga teams. So the quarterfinals feature six from the Bundesliga and two from the Erste Liga: Austria Wien, Rapid Wien, Ried, Mattersburg, Sturm Graz, Kapfenberg, Austria Lustenau, Vienna
Next round: Austria Wien - Austria Lustenau Rapid - Mattersburg Ried - Sturm Vienna FC - Kapfenberg Played: 19./20. April
After a five-month break, the quarterfinals: Austria Wien 0 - 4 Austria Lustenau Rapid Wien 2 - 0 Mattersburg Ried 2 - 1 Sturm Graz Vienna FC 0 - 2 Kapfenberg Big upset of the round, obviously, is Austria Lustenau of the Este Liga trouncing Bundesliga leaders Austria Wien in Vienna. (Guess it shouldn't be that surprising, given Austria Lustenau won 3-0 at Salzburg in the first round!) The other three semifinalists are all Bundesliga teams. Semifinals will be on May 3/4.
Semifinals Kapfenberg 1 - 2 Austria Lustenau Ried 2 - 1 Rapid Wien Well, Austria Lustenau of the Erste Liga again won away against a Bundesliga opponent. They're in the final against Ried, which advanced thanks to a couple of late goals. Final is May 29 in Vienna. Interesting to see if a team from the lower division can win the cup this year. I believe SV Horn in 2008 of the Regionalliga Ost (third division) is the only club to do so in the last 20 years.
Correct, 2008 was very special, in reality the Cup was only for amateur teams. By the reason in 2008 the european championship was held in austria the 22 profi teams didn´t participate in the cup.
2011 Austrian ÖFB Cup Final Ried 2 - 0 Austria Lustenau Congrats to Ried! Two goals by Markus Hammerer were the difference. It was Ried's second cup title, following their victory in the 1998 tournament. A good run by Austria Lustenau, who won away to Austria Wien and Kapfenberg to eliminate those Bundesliga sides. But an historic title for the lower-division club wasn't meant to be...
