They look a little bit plain IMO, but Nike have released Australia's (and other countries) kit for the WC. I suppose the advantage is that they will look OK when wearing as a supporter. http://twg1.sbs.com.au/home/index.php3?id=67992 Marco Bresciano was doing the modelling: http://editorial.gettyimages.com/so...0|0|0|7|Marco Bresciano|-8193|0|0|0|0&p&tag=2
Re: Australian kits for WC IIRC (from a similar thread on BS some months ago), there is some kind of toss for home team designation in these WC Finals group games.
Re: Australian kits for WC Ah see, it might of helped if I had actually been bothered to read the article, sounds good though. Cheers for the info.
Re: Australian kits for WC Check this thread out: http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=240562&page=13 - post #195 & 203.
Re: Australian kits for WC The press release says that the away strip is "obsidian blue". Unfortunately, the press release for the US kit also says that their away strip is obsidian blue. Nike must have got a discount for buying obsidian blue material in bulk! Personally, I don't know why it had to be so dark. The blue in Australia's flag (and in the US flag for that matter) is nowhere near that dark.
Re: Australian kits for WC Your boy (the one doing the modeling).... a little on the portly side no??
Re: Australian kits for WC Must be your glasses, mate. Go and get your eyes checked again, otherwise stop what you're doing as it's making you go blind.
Re: Australian kits for WC According to this (PM's site): http://www.pm.gov.au/aus_in_focus/nat_symbols/colours.html blue and gold had an historical claim to being Australia's colours (and they are in the coat of arms), so I can see where they came from for the away strip, but did the blue really need to be that dark?? (i.e. almost black)
Re: Australian kits for WC It's a little thing called muscle, as any australian player will tell you, if you play soccer in australia, you need to be able to cop a few hits and give em out in return.
Re: Australian kits for WC It looks a lot better under floodlights (and I would imagine in daylight). Its the same colour blue as has been used on the USA strip, second from the left.
Re: Australian kits for WC I actually really like them, way better than the 'pool ball' look of the old nike strip. When would they come out in the stores? I really feel sorry for those people before, and just after the Uruquay match who splurged 120 odd bucks on the old kit.
Re: Australian kits for WC Is there actually anyone on earth shorter than DeMarcus Beasley? I thought Bresciano was short and even the Asian guy is taller.
Re: Australian kits for WC Got mine today love it ,really looks good (glad I lost my belly) its tight but ill play a Park game with it and see how it fells then
Re: Australian kits for WC Champagne, I just did a double take on that blue colour and it is ture, it really is the same blue as the Aussie flag I was wrapped up in recently down at Cronulla
Re: Australian kits for WC Hahaha! This trend of wearing the flag like a Superman cape seems to be taking off!!
Re: Australian kits for WC lol the us wouldn't know anything about the Australian side remember Bruce 'Smart Man' Arena's comments a few months ago?
Re: Australian kits for WC I like them. I'll get one. It'll be good 10 years from now having MVFC 1st season & Australia WC06 shirts
