I thought Harry might've been a concern, considering he got done pretty hard against Iraq and was obviously pushing through the barrier, himself (could especially tell after he scored the goal; was limping back to the Australia half).

This game's going to be pretty tough - a lot more so than what many are predicting - since Uzbekistan has been a lot better than Australia so far and one of their main men, Server Djeparov, seems to be improving with every game and returning to the kind of form that saw him as AFC Player of the Year in 2008.

Our older guys will be running on empty, but at least we will get Emerton back for this game to add some energy.

I suspect we will push hard for an early goal, to enable us to sit back, reserve energy and counter for the rest of the game.

Of course that probably won't happen, and we'll be sitting on the edge of our seats all night.......

6-0. One of the best Socceroos games in a while. Clinical. McKay was ripping. Good to see Kruse and Valeri get a goal. With all of Kruse's shots I was thinking "Oh no, it's Robbie McKruse". Bring it Japan.

Edit: Maybe Brisbane and Victory should be expecting more offers to be coming their way for McKay and Kruse?

Was anyone thinking that Scotty Mac had put on a Robbie Kruse mask at one stage?

I was generally worried about how we were going to qualify for WC2014 with our (by 2014) very much ageing squad and not much talent coming through. I was thinking we may just scrape into 4th or 5th.

The tournament has allayed my fears somewhat and even the coach has surprised me. He seems to be putting a confidence back into the players. In saying that, plenty of work still needs to be done to qualify and do well.

Wow, great win, we seem to getting better as the tourney progresses.
Happy some less heralded players made the scorecard tonight, will give them a huge confidence boost. Very glad the Ogg monster scored after that jedinak clearance in last game. Yeew!

Our quick interplay through the middle with Cahill and McKay and co was sublime in the second half, it will need to be vs Japan.

Osieck is da man right now, We are getting the big results with the squad and talent that GA and Pim couldn't ever imagine doing.

Everyone enjoy the day and can't wait for the final!:D

Great win! Hopefully we didn't peak 1 game early. Japan had to slug it out for 120 mins so hopefully that will give us an advantage.

Re: Time to eat a dog poo sandwich and say it's yummy

He got the bit in bold perfect.

We let Uzbekistan have the ball but gave them no chances and took ours when they came. 1st half stats tell the story - Uzbeks had 70% of possession but only 2 shots on goal - both long range free kicks, whilst Australia looked dangerous almost every time they got the ball.

That heat map thing also tells a story about the two teams, we played to conserve energy but still ran a fair bit more in total then the Uzbeks, of course have Matt McKay in your team helps with that.

    Happy, el-capitano?

Guilty as charged, but no need to rub it in.

Best Socceroos performance since Serbia or possibly that friendly against the Irish in 09.

    Amazing stuff.

Had more in common with the Irish game, opposition made it very easy for us.

Serbia is still the best recent game we've played.

My only concern for this game was that i thought Wilkshire should have been sent off for his studs up challenge. This isn't the first time and someone has to tell him to cut it out.
