Only a win will do, and depending on other results- the bigger, the better! ;)

I see that Larrionda has been assigned as the ref on our game. Based on the referring forum, he is pretty strict. Perhaps Caesar can comment further on his record.

With both sides wanting a win, and Serbia also playing a physical style of football, I fear that we will see more cards. And knowing our history, no doubt some of them will not be good for our team.

We are increasingly getting a reputation as being too physical and "dirty". I found the unofficial comments from a FIFA official recently rather annoying, and the last thing we need in this campaign.

Hopefully none of this backdrop, and the nature of the referee assigned impacts on the game itself.

Provided that you guys win tomorrow, hopefully, Ghana will do their part by either winning against Germany, or loosing against them by 4+ goal differential. Both are unlikely, but good luck!!

It's like saying "We screwed you with harsh/poor officiating, and now we'll screw you even more and cover our ass at the same time". How nice of them.

So how is it our fault that 3 of the 6 players are the opposition and 2 of the 3 Aussie players were unlucky to be sent off?

Obviously FIFA haven't acknowledged the mistakes they contributed toward those send offs either.

FIFA is the stupidest most incompetent organization ever. FIFA is a joke. They only care about the $$$ and not fair play. Let us show them what is up tomorrow!

You'd think they'd be professional enough not go in with those sort of preconceptions but here they are pandering them.

    To totally plagiarise a comment I recently read >> I think we've been FIFA'd!!!!

I'd like to award FIFA the world's unofficial "biggest tool" award.
How about we total up the amount of b******t decisions made by FIFA referees in Australia's last 6 WC matches.

Larrionda is a pretty good referee but he's been appointed to call a tight game. This isn't the Premiership or A-League - if we play rough then we will earn cards.

To be honest I do not really have much of a problem with the cards Australia has received so far in the tournament. I thought the Cahill red was overly harsh given the context of the game, and the Kewell red a bit of a toss-up, but the reality is that they have all been pretty justifiable.

The bottom line is that FIFA tells referees to call a very tight game at the World Cup and our players have induldged in a lot of rough and sloppy play that has made them susceptible. I think we have been a bit hard done by on the other side of the coin (after Cahill, how Addy's tackle on Bresc wasn't a sendoff I don't know) but the reality is that our players kind of have themselves to blame for putting themselves in a position where the referee can card them. When your defenders are old and slow, they tackle late and the results are often not pretty.

I am hoping our defenders in particular are a bit more circumspect tomorrow morning. One advantage of Moore and Grella being out is that they're probably two of our biggest offenders in that respect. Players like Valeri and Beauchamp may not be as skilled in some respects, but they're young and quick and should be able to time their tackles properly.

So 3 of the 6 cards were for the opposition (and it took 3 yellows to get Simunic off). Harry's was for an unlucky, non deliberate (in the dictionary, not FIFA sense) hand ball, Emerton's second yellow was for a ball to hand hand ball in the farce that was the Croatia game and Cahill's red - the only foul play red we have got - should have been a yellow, especially comparing it too some other tackles of the World Cup.

HTF does this make us a dirty team?

LOL, anyway Tim Cahill scores a beautiful header, but Ghana is trailing 1-0 right now.. not looking good for Australia.
