Bring on the Chileans!! They have a big community in Melbourne, and it would be well supported.

It talks about a double header, with a second match against a European team.
FIFA Dates are 1st, 3rd and 7th June.

Teams it's unlikely to be [that already have Friendlies organised on or around those dates http://www.fifa.com/worldfootball/nationalteams/index.html ]:

    Austria
    France
    FYR Macedonia
    Hungary
    Latvia
    Luxembourg
    Netherlands
    Slovenia
    Ukraine

I'll guess Suncorp stadium, and it will be supporting the flood and cyclone relief effort. but haven't heard anything as yet that even confirms serbia.

They were going to get Lebanon for our first Asian Cup campaign but some kind of war thing happened.

Truly that city is accursed in the eyes of the Football Gods.

FFA are muppets. Nobody will let them move a FIFA world cup qualifier just for a friendly game.

They wouldn't even let Japan move their March 3 2010 Asian Cup qualifier against Bahrain so that they could play a friendly with Portugal........and by that game Japan had already qualified.

FIFA would have to agree, then the AFC, then their opponents for that game would also have to agree. It'll come down to what the other team wants.

So if I understand what the DT has written correctly, we may have a friendly in England a couple of days after a World Cup qualifier in Australia, provided the AFC allows us to arrange a change of date for a qualifier and England agrees to play us. What's the point? The World Cup has to remain the main priority and to then play a friendly on the other side of the world just after a WCQ can only be detrimental IMO.

so sick of the hype sorrounding Gareth Bale, making out like he's the best player in the world. I could understand it if he was English, but he's Welsh, so i'm really confused...

To be fair the Welsh have produced a few decent players over time. Just not collectively. I can understand the frustration, or blase approach from fans, though. We'd expect to account for the likes of Wales and New Zealand.

Luke DeVere is called up for the Australia Squad ahead of the Wales friendly. I have become a close follower of him ever since his move to Gyeongnam FC. He will do well people, he will do well...

Highlights of the Oman-Saudi Arabia game which ended 0-0.

It was probably due to the home advantage and that Rijkaard has only been in charge for this one game so far, but I thought Oman deserved a win here.

However both teams had their big chances and couldn't finish. Either way, playing Saudi away is going to be a completely different kettle of fish to playing Thailand at home.

Germany were certainly missing Ozil and I think Gomez scored the first goal. But they got a bit lazy defensively.
