Re: C'mon Guus, give archie a run!

    lol

what a waste of time that was

i was hoping he'll get some game time to improve his chances for the world cup. but i guess he just doesnt cut it...

back to the a league u come champ!

at least with archie coming back we'll have at least a quality striker for the asian qualifiers, as kewell and viduka will never be available because of mysterious injuries

I am sure that they will be right. Don't worry too much about them.

Where abouts did you hear that news?

Cahill's injury was just a collision, he should be fine.

More worrying is Kewell - he's done his groin again. Hopefully it's just a twinge, but after the last season and a half I'm paranoid.

It comforts me that there has been no specific news on the injuries, kewell's is a worry being his groin, but i'm sure there would've been headlines if they were looking out of the world cup (i hope i haven't spoken too soon)

    Re: Please No!!!!

i watched both games on tv and it didnt look at all that serious to me.....

cahill had a bad knock, and well didnt see what happened to kewell, they just subbed him, didnt seem to be any alarm or anything...

like u said, maybe just a niggle...well lets hope so because i want to see them both in action at the world cup :)

especially against croatia! (game were going to ;) )

I saw it too Kewell did looked injured even though he went down in what looked like a time wasting tactic. He was walking gingerly but at least he was walking.

Yeah, he did go down, it didnt look to concerning though.

10 weeks?!! It said maybe 4 weeks in the newspaper. It's only a cheekbone fracture isn't it? He can wear a face mask or something.

    Start warming up Zeljko....

I think Filan deserves third choice above Covic, but then a third choice keeper is an irrelevancy anyway - they never play.

I'd rather have a young guy like Brad Jones (who's probably going to figure big for the national team in the future) go along instead - it would be a good experience for him.

    Re: Please No!!!!

here we go again.....patiently waiting for all Melbourne Victory tragics to name every keeper on Melbourne's books to fill in for Schwartz.

He'll be right- he's just a keeper- not like he need plenty of running for his match fitness.

I really think there's a case to be made for Eugene Galekovic to fill in for Schwarzer......or maybe Michael Theoklitos? ;) :p

I think Schwarzer will be right for the WC.Its 6 weeks away, and he's a big man,I don't think anyone would be game enough to tell him that he won't be starting. :)

    Re: Please No!!!!

News is starting to filter through now. I'd say they'll all be fine. The thought of losing Kewell is my main concern, closely followed by Viduka, but I can't see a thigh strain sidelining Dukes for 7 weeks.

    Cahill seems the biggest concern at this stage, but if it does end up just a jarring with no ligament damage, he'll be right;
