Hi guys, Thought this might be an interesting thread......... With West Ham's relegation almost a certainty, where do you think Lucas Neill will play next season. As an LFC fan, I was bitterley dissapointed that he chose money over the opportunity to play for the club he supported as a youngster and the opporunity to play with one of the biggest clubs in the world. I expected more from our Lucas. It's a certainty Rafa wont take him now......... I'm thinking the toon or the toffee's but I believe their may be interest from Italy??? Any ideas?
No idea, but given his current overinflated wage I would say it will probably cause problems with him trying to find offers. Like Viduka, he's being paid more than he's probably worth and will no doubt be reluctant to leave the club for less. I wouldn't be surprised to see him stick with West Ham in the hope that they can get straight back up again.
It's not that nobody can afford him, its that he'll have his work cut out trying to find someone who'll be willing to offer him as much as West Ham. Liverpool COULD match his wages bill - but they won't, because he's not really worth it. They could pay a comparable player less. I'd say it's highly likely that if he wants to play top-level football next season, he'll have to take a pay cut.
Scott Mcdonald now being chased by BOTH old firm teams http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=33318 Maybe Celtic are just trying to piss off Rangers and make him dearer
Good, maybe once he starts playing for Celtic he will start getting some decent game time for the Roo's
Neill wont be going to Liverpool. He burned all of his bridges when he went chasing the big bucks- and good luck to him for doing that- but I can tell you now- based on the quotes coming out of Rick Parry's and Rafa's mouths after he signed for WHU- he's not going to Liverpool!!
Lol, I guess those rumours of Neill going to Barca will no doubt surface again if West Ham is relegated.
McDonald's Celtic move 'done' CELTIC has completed a deal to sign Motherwell's Australia striker Scott McDonald this northern summer, the player's agent claims. http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,8659,21463179-23215,00.html
Chris Coyne has joined Colchester from Luton. That's a good move for him, going up a notch. Neil Kilkenny has joined Leeds United. There is still a bit of speculation about Leijer going to Leeds, we'll have to wait & see about that one. Harry Kewell had been linked with Fulham, i couldn't see him going there. Apparently his huge wages has scared them off anyway.
and to recap some other going ons recently......... Sterjovski has joined Derby. Not a spectacular move but at least if he plays well he might get picked up by another EPL club when Derby get relegated. James Troisi is on trial at Roda JC with a view to a loan Nick Carle joined Bristol Chris Herd has been loaned out by Aston Villa to Port Vale
Sterjovski's work permit has been declined because he hasn't played enough matches for the Socceroos. He needs one more cap......Ridiculous!!! Derby are appealing the decision. Maybe Pim could select him for the Qatar game? Would he still be able to transfer then? It's after the window closes.
James Meredith (ex of Derby) has moved from Sligo in Ireland to Shrewsbury Middlesborough are alledgedly being offered Paul Robinson by Tottenham as a makeweight for Stewart Downing - this would life interesting for Mark Schwarzer
The Old Lady Hertha has posted a rumour that Michael Beauchamp is on his way to Liaoning FC in China. Li Tie, former Everton player, used to play for this club, in the FCN thread. If this happens FC Nurnberg wont be a very Aussie club anymore!
No offence, but what a crap rumour. If Beauchamp really would do that, then he may aswell return to the A-League! Beauchamp is actually one of the leading Aussies at the club. He's been playing far more first team than any of the others, especially recently.
What happened to Ryan Griffiths?? went from romania to china on loan supposedly, then last i heard he was injured. Anyone know where he is or what he's doing?
I can't imagine they'd want Robinson? Weren't they keen to open negotiations with Schwarzer to stay on at the club?
Griffiths had injury problems and returned to Australia for treatment. This month he returned to Rapid Bucharest.
Matthew Jurman of the Australian Institute of Sport is one of 3 test players who'll be at the winter training camp of Werder Bremen II in Spain. They have a friendly match vs. Arminia Bielefeld scheduled for Friday in which he will get to play.
http://www.werder.de/aktuelles/news/meldung.php?id=12350 Jurman came on in the 67th minute for the Werder U23s in their 2-2 draw with Bielefeld. No other details but at least he played
I think the Bresciano to Inter news = old news. This was before they ended up gaining Maniche on loan. So since they have signed Maniche, I guess they will no longer need another attacking midfielder? They were only looking for a midfielder, to cover for their injured players anyway.
