Just went to my first Timbers game last Saturday. Epic is all I can say. I've been to many games in Europe, even been to Hampden Park in Glasgow and sat with Scotland's Tartan Army, and the Timbers Army have rivaled that experience. Looking forward to my next Timbers Army experience. Well done TA!
Actually got to know the youngest in this brother trio that won the 1984 Eurovision contest. /cool story
Hey guys, I'm taking a trip out to Portland for your guy's last match. For one day i'll be in the Timbers Army...so I'll learn the chants for sure. Anyways what's the dress code? I hear it's bright green and blue...is that correct?
yeah, i'm a big fan of the Timbers. Obviously because of all the Dynamo ties but also because of the team and fans and a common hatred for everything Sounder.
Lets see, I've heard that from LA, Colorado, Chicago, and you most distinctly this season. We come into the league grateful and with open arms, only because we know how close it was to seeing our existence almost disappear completely because of D2's fractures/implosion.
I'd like to thank all of the fans of the other teams for the kind words. There are classy fans across the league, even in *gasp* Seattle. Even though I could NEVER cheer for that team, I will respect their fans for being exactly that. There are obviously twats in every fan base but, this has been a great season and I am thoroughly impressed with all the fans who have travelled to Portland to support their teams. Good on you for great support. LA and Vancouver fans get extra props for class from my experience. Looking forward to seeing you all again, keep this game great by keeping the atmosphere the same. Cheers to you all. BTW, I'm an old school fan, I remember when the Timbers army was only 4 people and a drum. I'm not an official TA member, was once a founding member of the SAS but, these days I just sit over in 119 and cheer the lads on. Good luck to all the teams who position doesn't directly affect our own. ; )
Cheers to SAS, great lads, are you guys still together during the games & also any news about English bloke.
These days we don't cheer together like we used to, since the stadium sold out we have tickets in various areas. As for the Englishman, he's living in the Middle East these days unfortunately but, well missed by his mates out here. We do our part to rally the fans around us to cheer with the TA. I personally sit right behind the opponents bench, we give them a hard time most of the game.
Hey guys. Hows the Corner sections @ Jeld Wen? just a thought... are the guys who sit there active in support?
