The article said some cuts have already been made and that only some of the trialists are still participating. I'm wondering who's left and who makes the final squad. The Gulley kid sounds interesting. Lord knows we need a forward. Just not sure how an 18 year old will do. This is the first I've heard of him.
Nice ASFC 2013 team preview: http://www.soccernewsday.com/usa/a/462/nasl-season-preview-atlanta-silverbacks
Yo! I live in Atlanta and I am planning on attending Silverback games...maybe even try out for the team or work there. Anyway, how much are the tickets about?
If you try out for the team and make it, I think they let you in the games for free. So that's a bonus.
They started at under $20 last year (maybe around $15?). And there's not a bad seat in the house. Cheap beer too, for a stadium. Very affordable. It's a lot of fun. We don't have Neymar, though. So try not to be disappointed.
We just signed Ruben Luna, formerly of FC Dallas. He's a forward and maybe the replacement for Horth. Sounds like he was part of the trialist group that has been practicing with the team. But I didn't see his name mentioned in the prior articles.
Defender Bobby Reiss signed to the team http://www.atlantasilverbacks.com/pro/news/Defender-Reiss-Signs-With-Silverbacks
So that means two of the unnamed trialist have been signed. That brings the roster up to 19 plus Gulley that might get loaned from Chicago. We were chating in the stands during the last game and think they will resign Maurer as a third keeper and Ukah at forward. That would leave room for maybe two or three more of the trialist. Max roster is 30, but we think it will be under 25 to keep costs down.
A pair of midfielders added to the mix, total now up to 21… http://www.atlantasilverbacks.com/pro/news/Silverbacks-Add-Pair-of-Midfielders
According to a Facebook comment, the team is looking to get the squad up to 24. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?...5834854.-2207520000.1363974506&type=3&theater
Crap! Just fuond out I'll be out of town on opening night. I guess I can read about the game in the AJC. Hahahah! Whew, just kidding. But F**k it, I will be out of town. Yeah any update on the Gulley kid?
The jungle is a wild place. It does weird things to people (remember Ben Stiller wearing the panda head and painting his face in Tropic Thunder?). Charlotte seemed pretty freaked out as they stumbled off the field, trying to come to terms with the Silverbacks rampage they just lived through. Glad we took it easy on them playing new guys for the first half. Wouldn't have wanted to scar them for life or anything.
Nothing official yet. He did play some against Charlotte and looked pretty good to me. I did talk to a couple of office staff that said they should be signing a few more players any day now, so watch for announcements.

The Fire seem to think he'll get "consistent playing time." I wonder if he will. We have a few options up front now. I wonder how much time an 18 year old will get. With our roster now almost set, anyone want to guess at the starting 11?
I'm thinking 4-2-2-1-1: Luna Mendes Barrea - Carr Menjivar - Blanco Randolph - Navarro - Lancaster - Bloom Nasco
The Silverbacks will have designated grilling zones at home games this year. Check out the "G'rilla Zones" here: pic.twitter.com/hoEeiNs4cY— Atlanta Silverbacks (@ATLSVBpark) April 3, 2013
