I think Athletic will finish between 8th and 13th this season and at times be in the relegation threat, but I think the team will be better becuase we have some younger players who gained valuable experience.

There are rumors that Asier Del Horno and Santi Ezquerro will return to Athletic this season, we shall see. I would like Del Horno. Ezquerro is not in favor with the faithful, so I think he should find a different club. IMO, he should go to england or MLS!

This is great news, Gorka is a fine keeper.

    New Here!

At last I've found some other English talking people who are Bilbao
    fans!
I only know of one other fan of our club who lives in England
and also like me has been to watch them.
Plan on going to Muricia away in May having been to
    Malaga in Jan 06.
Went to home game v Deportivo La Coruna last season.
    AUPA ATHLETIC!
Anyone want to talk get in touch!

The squad is better than last years team, ther is no doubt about it.

Here is the lineup I like.

    --------------Gorka-------------------
    Iraola----Ocio---Amorebieta---Del Horno
    --------Orbaiz----Javi Martinez--------
    Etxeberria------Yeste--------David Lopez
    -------------Aduriz------------------

This is not a bad lineup, and it has some good Subs, such as teenage sensation Suaseta, Inaki Munoz, Fernando Llorente(who I think stinks), and Ion Velez.

Suaseta is playing himself as a starter as scorer in the last two games, with one of those against Barca.

Athletic beat Levante last week 2-1, with two goals form Aritz Aduriz.

True test of this team will be agianst Atletico. If we beat them, we maybe a top 6 club this season.

I think you will see a much better team this season. We got back Del Horno, added Ocio, have teenage sensation Suaseta, and are a deeper team. If Fernando Llorrente ever plays well this will be a very, very good team. We shall see.

Big fan of Bilbao. Traditional club that believe in their beliefs and thats not very common these days.
Hopefully they won't get embroiled in a relegation battle like last season, that was too close for comfort.
Looking forward to some consistency this season from them and hopefully some goals too!

    Me too.

Team should be better. We got Del Horno back and added Aitor Ocio and Gorka as the keeper. we will be better.

Even today we struggle with our beliefs, but I think it makes us a special club, at least in my heart.

So far this season looks like a replay of last season despite the influx of new talent signed. I think that they will be better, some where between 9th and 14th.

    Tought results lately.
We get Yeste back against Recreativo. That should help a lot because he is Athletic's bridge between a good back line and Aduriz.

Amorebieta had a very fine season. His play is great a majority of the time, few mental mistakes. He is a physical player, purely defensive. I hope we don't sell, and I doubt we will.

I doubt it also as Rafa is planning 2 free transfers in the summer and was planning a signing in January and Amorebieta isnt on a free for another 2 or 3 years i think

Athletic suprisingly crush a struggling Valencia 3-0. We have not won at the Mestalla for over 20 years!

Two for the struggling Fernando Llorrente.

Let's hope that Llorrente can stay on track now. He has too many tools to leave half of them on the field.

Spectacular win today against Valencia. Llorente had 2 goals, Etxeberria had 2 assists. Totally dominant second half.
