We shall see. They were supposed to lose to Manchester United. They were supposed to lose to FC Schalke 04. I would have almost said it was even ground with Sporting.

Who of those clubs is still left in the final? Only Athletic.

Will A. Madrid be the favorite? Maybe but we have seen how previous favorites vs A. Bilbao have ended up.

I would put money on Bielsa over Simeone 10 times out of 10.

I think Bielsa is going to focus more on the league next season.. theres no way you can compete for 3 separate competitions with Bilbao's lack of depth.

Win the EL, Win the CdR this season,, go for the league next season.

Hopefully we make some signings.. Azpilicueta anyone?? Hopefully Griezmann becomes Basque soon. Wouldnt mind replacing Muniain with Griezmann if Iker does indeed leave during the off-season.

Lost to Madrid.. basically handed them the trophy.. no Iturraspe, Ander, Muniain, Amorebieta, Gurpegi...

EL final in 5 days!!! Time to put this behind us and work towards achieving the double. EL and CdR!

Considered one of the best outside back prospects in world football. Great kid with all the tools, hopefully he fully recovers from his injury and does great things. We will have to cheer from him from afar, though. I do not see Athletic competing for the transfer fees Cesar will demand.

There is no "becoming Basque." Although in some of the oldest traditions to be Basque meant that you spoke Basque, and speaking Basque was more important than where you happened to be born, or who happened to be your parents. Anyway, enough with the history. Forlan, Higuain, etc, have a better chance of being considered for Athletic than Griezmann.

Nope, Antoine Griezmann is already considered Basque due to being formed at Sociedad alone. Studied in Bayonne.. has the Basque Philosophy.

What does this have to do with my prediction? Bilbao was superb all tournament long before they got away with punching Sporting players and flopping beyond belief. That can only get you so far.

2-0 is the most dangerous scoreline in futbol... another half is left.. Bilbao have the stamina and pace to make Atletico look like Sporting in the 2nd.

Inigo Perez and Ibai Gomez coming on... What kind of "wtf" formation does El Loco have now.

this sucks.. really does... its going to be a while until Bilbao return to International prominence.

Till then.. Copa Del Rey will have to do... Hopefully they don't choke in the final.

Crying isn't advised within the Basque culture... but I think this will be an exception. These kids represent a whole nation, People, an entire culture.. and to come so far with a team that hasn't experienced success in a LONNGGGG time to only lose in sucha embarrassing fashion.. Let the tears flow Ibai, Iker, Fernando.

Copa Del Rey will hopefully be a different tale for my Euskal Herreria.
