All I'm interested in is the look of his right boot. Looks perfectly fine to me.

Besides, it's good to get some ugly players in to boost Ronaldo's confidence and form. We all know he plays better when he thinks he is the prettiest in the team. Remember when he was playing with Rooney and Fletcher? The guy was unstoppable.

It's true. That's one of the problems at RM. Alonso and Casillas are really handsome, manly, and Spanish.

It's the main problem from a tactical perspective. We need to hire Mascherano and Pepe Reina to replace those two, otherwise we'll never win anything.

CM is the position that Modric played for Tottenham, and the one that he prefers himself. The thing about Modric is that he covers a lot of ground and easily play next to Xabi Alonso in a two man midfield.

    Modric:
".... I am most comfortable in the middle of the park and I hope I can get a spot in that position, although I can play in other positions. It’s up to the manager to decide. I am most comfortable in the middle of the park."

" At Tottenham, I played in the centre of the park and we’ll see how Mourinho wants to use me. I will play wherever he puts me and I will give my all to improve the team and get the right results for the team.".

As for Sahin? He will stay. Lass is on his last year and will leave on free this summer.

Ozil, Modric, Granero... don't you guys have enough defensive midfielders?

Ozil a CDM? More like a CAM. I think something already hit it on the head earlier. But, I think this will be great for the midfield and possession. Will wait and see.

He's kinda small stature wise. Is this a new tactic? We're gonna battle midgets with midgets?

I will make a wager that Modric did not come in to compete with Ozil or DiMaria. You don't bring in the only transfer of the year to compete with the 2nd best player on your team (and your future) in Ozil. Makes no sense.

I wager that 95.0005392195% of the team feel that Modric has come to compete with Ozil, Di Maria and Khedira.

He can do both. Mesut has been a bit "meh" lately and Modric could be used to put some fire under his ass to get him going. There was actually an article in MARCA about this not long ago. I'll try to find it.

Found it: Modric to drive on Özil

Just like Alonso does, Modric played alongside a real defensinve midfielder (Parker) who did most of the "dirty" job. It will be very risky defensively to play just Modric and Alonso as the 2 players in front of the defence in a 4-2-3-1 formation. IMO, Modric's in competition for a starting spot with Alonso and Ozil.

Sorry but out of all the players you listed, Ozil is the only one better than Modric.
Let's be serious, Granero,Gago.... a step above Modric.... really???

It's not about the better all around player, but about the best player to perform a specific role. This is why it is unlikely that Modric displaces Khedira or Lass, as so many have stated.
