Pretty obvious handling by Hutton. Probable DGH. Sadly I can't get the freeze frames as clear as the video in the FoxSoccer media player.

Clattenburg should get this right but the AR MUST get this right. Game critical decision and possible relegation critical decision.

I saw this in the epl review show. I couldn't tell if clattenburg was shielded or not, but your stills show that he wasn't...

As you say, match critical. The only way I can figure clattenburg missing this is perhaps he can't tell how far the dedender's arm is extended from his body.

As for the AR, he must feel that his CR has as good a view as he does, and is a good bit closer. Plus, He likely got the same instruction that I usually get and usually give in pregame: let me have first crack at the PA, but if you feel like I've missed something, get your flag up and we'll talk about it.

I had a similar recent call as an AR, where a defender batted a ball down with her left arm: it was in the pa very near the near goalpost, and the defender was facing directly towards me, so I knew that her body would likely be blocking the cr's view.

In this case, I think it might take somewhat more than the usual amount of AR courage to flag this when the CR is looking straight at it, but it is a shame that they got this one wrong.

There is no way you can judge this from still photos. Not worthy of any comment. You cannot tell the pace or distance of the shot. I assume it came from the attacker standing at the edge of the goal area?

I agree but I saw this in real time and it was a redirected header towards the player. So it wasn't exactly going all that fast, I think it's definitely possible to see this correctly.

I suppose the referees believed the ball was nearer to the body than the replays or the stills seem to suggest.

Agreed, he had time to move his arm away and choose not to. I am sending him off and restarting with a penalty kick.

Not sure I'm sending him off for that. The keeper is right behind him and is already squatting for the save. To be DGH you want to be close to sure it was going in if not for the handling, it should be a pretty high bar.

    PK: Yes, DGH: nope.
