Litos has not impressed me at all this season. I know he is 32 but that does not explain his lack of field smarts, that he as shown. Medeiros has is good days and his bad days and he needs some more seasoning.

THis team with a Marcel, or a Joeano would now be alot higher in the standings.

When you look at this team it is shamefull how he can not stop dead ball goals, or put balls in the net.

Litos and Medeiros are not op class, that´s for sure, but Kaká and Danilo are just clumsy, they give the team no confidence at all.

And you´re right we need a striker urgently.

Académica-V. Setúbal, 2-1, Taca de Portugal. The Hungarian player Gyano scored both Estudante goals. The game was fairly even disputed by both teams, but the Sadinos lacked on the finalization of their opportunities, and only in injury time, did Amuneke finally got the honor goal.

Academica 0-2 Benfica. 4th league match loss in a row.

The Estudantes put on early pressure and got two early goals.


Dame N´Doye scored the first on the 13th minute and was booked twice leaving the game at the 19th min .

Miguel Pedro added another on the 25th. The visitors went down two men on the 85th min, but the team hanged on to win.

After 4 years playing for the Briosa , Dionattan is signing w/ Fluminense, no fee. He and two other Brazilians ( Filipe Alvim & Delmer) costed Academica 1 million US$ in fees when they transfered from Juventude de Caxias.

I didn't know Pitbull was still a FC Porto player.

The two January reinforcements combine in a play to score and garantee the 3 points. Pitbull , subed in on the 79th minute crosses the ball a couple of minutes later to Joeano, who places it in the back nets.

Atletico CP 0-1 Academica.

Pitbull scored during injury time to prevent the extra time and guarantee passage to the quarter-finals.

I saw the highlights, and you can say it was a very controversial goal.
Pitbull pushed a defender off with his hand, and the defense stopped waiting for the call.

BELENENSES-ACADÉMICA, 1-2 (Nivaldo 73'; Nestor Alvarez 71', Lino 86')
A good game with both teams playing an attacking soccer model. The share of points was the most acceptable result, but Costinha's mishandling of the ball from a FK near the end of the 2nd half determined the winner.

ACADÉMICA-BOAVISTA, 0-2 ( 0-2 HT ).

The Estudantes had a better second half, trying to turn the result around but found the Boavista defense closed. They did manage two shots off the woodwork , but Lady Luck wasn't visiting the Briosa on this occasion.

Academica 0-2 Paços de Ferreira. With this loss , the relegation battle gets worse for the Briosa. Many supporters were demonstrating after the game was over, insulting players and coaching staff alike. Nestor Alvarez was assalted by some of the more demonstrative protestors.

AVES-ACADÉMICA, 2-2 (Jorge Ribeiro 71', Hernâni 85'; Dame 38', Filipe Teixeira 90') 0-1 at the half-time. A precious point to fend off relegation pains.

E. AMADORA-ACADÉMICA, 3-3 ( Pitbull 3', Joeano 54', 65') A point on the road.

Académica 1-2 FC Porto.
The early first half determined the loss as the visitors took advantage of their opportunities. The locals dominated the second half but weren't able to reach the equalizer. A hand ball in the FC Porto area wasn't punished w/ a pk.

Precious points with only two games to go in this season. Next game will be in Coimbra vs Sporting CP

ACADÉMICA-SPORTING, 0-2. 0-1 at the half. A well played and exciting game with both teams looking for the win. Despite losing, Academica is saved from relegation because all three teams below it lost their games.
