That would be a suprise tbh.

At this stage I'm expecting a three and out for Iraq in 2011, and that will lead to him getting the boot.

Thats why i asked the question.

I think he has thought to himself, one last shot at the big time. All eyes on Iraq and how they will do at AC and then off he goes.

But if that does happen. It leaves Iraq looking for another coach with little time again until world cup qualifiers come up.

To me, it does seem to be the time that Iraq had a secure Iraqi coach at the helm. It does seem that there are to many old generation Europeans or unheard of Brazilians that see the likes of Iraq and other West Asian nations as a place to pick up money without having too much heart in it.

Ok, so Iraq play Oman in a friendly soon and then meet again in the Gulf Cup. They also face UAE twice in the next 5 months.

So long we wait to see Iraq play football, and then its the same old teams time after time.

Amazingly only North Korea are a team from outside of West Asia in these 13 games listed.

The last time Iraq played a none West Asian team was Azerbaijan

The Iraqi football federation contacted Guatemala via fax for interest in a friendly match during the FIFA dates of October.

We haven't faced each other since the 1988 Olympics.
