AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2011™ Finals Draw at the Dome

We'll be seeded as one of the group heads.

Any teams you'd like to meet?

What are the pots going to be like?

I'm guessing using previous kind of criteria...

POT A: Qatar, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Korea Republic
POT B: Japan, Australia, Uzbekistan, Iran
POT C: UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, China
POT D: North Korea, India, Jordan, Syria

    So, who do you fancy?

Last time they used the latest FIFA ranking IIRC. So it would be like this:-

POT A: Qatar , Iraq , Saudi Arabia , Korea Repubic
    POT B: Australia , Japan , Iran , Bahrain
POT C: China, Kuwait , Uzbekistan , Syria
POT D: Jordan , UAE , Korea DPR , India

    ____

    I would like to have

Australia: because I like our matches against them.
Kuwait: time to revive the rivaly with our former arch-rivals.
    India: just for fun.

    Ranking's changed today, here's top 10.:

    1 (19) Australia +4
    2 (45) Japan +1
    3 (49) Korea Republic +4
    4 (62) Saudi Arabia -5
    5 (63) Iran +4
    6 (67) Bahrain -4
    7 (81) Iraq +6
    8 (84) China -1
    9 (94) Kuwait -6
    10 (95) Uzbekistan -20

Either way, if it is based on rankings, only a few teams would change (POT's A and B with JPN/Aus swapping with KSA/KOR)

I've read that ROK and KSA will be seeded alongside Iraq and Qatar, while the other pots will be made upon the FIFA ranking.

    official seeds

POT A: Qatar, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Korea Republic
POT B: Japan, Australia, Uzbekistan, Iran
POT C: UAE, Jordan , Bahrain, China
POT D: North Korea, India, Kuwait , Syria

    ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

I want Australia, second choice would be Iran.
Doesn't matter, but it would be funny to meet Adnan Hamad's Jordan.
    Kuwait, Kuwait and Kuwait.

Iraq - Syria isn't a derby, Iraq - Kuwait is.

    Bring on Al Azraq.

Iraq will play Iran first, it will be the biggest game in the group, I don't like NK sort of play, they park a buss then they counter attack, it sucks and boring to watch, We should win UAE or we don't have much to say

If we win or draw with Iran then am pretty sure we are true from the group

No. The 2010 edition is scheduled for November/December.

    Interesting, former Bahrain coach.

If he gets it, will he be there just for the Asian Cup and then leave or stick around for 2014 WC Qualifiers?

You used to play in the Arab Champions League. Iraq should try getting that up and running again.

Gulf Club Cup is a strange one really. It's almost like the organisers just don't want you.

Like I said, we never have expressed any interest in joining that tournament anyway.
