That is good news, especially because only a month ago Zico insisted that he is not going to try out some new players and is going to continue with the current squad. The IFA stated that there is contact with the Turkish, Greek and Serbian FA's for a possible friendly in Turkey.

He continued: “Our next objective is to hold a training camp in Turkey. We will travel to Turkey on May 21 and play friendly against Iraq on May 27 in Istanbul. http://www.goal.com/en/news/1277/we...roz-mauritania-and-mozambique-will-help-us-to
Osama Rashid got the OK to play for Iraq. Let's see if Zico calls him up. http://ifa.iq/doc/osama.pdf
http://www.aliraqi.org/forums/showpost.php?p=147902317&postcount=114 1. Embarassing. 2. May i remind you all that we were promised to get friendlies with top european teams. Hoewever, we are not succeeding in arranging friendlies with the likes, with all due respect, of Albania and Georgia.
Zico showed a complete lack of interest in Osama Rashid by telling him to join the olympic team. There were some rumours dat Zico didn't even know who he was at the beginning. People have to realise that Zico showed from day one that he is not interested in giving a chance to the youngsters and that he is relying on the older players.

Younis has an ankle injury and will not play tomorrow. Hawar is a starter; that really surprises me because of the lack of rythm that he has. The starting eleven: http://www.alliraqnews.com/index.ph...-41-44&catid=38:2011-04-08-17-26-18&Itemid=57
Let me start with congratulating our team with the draw against probably the weakest team in the group. I wouldn't say this was totally unexpectable. I said before the game that the presence of hawar in the starting eleven (hell, even in the squad) is mind dazzling. It felt like we were playing with 10 men. Now mix this with 0% stamina and the fear from Zico's side to change anything in the game results in this huge disappointment. What hurts me most is that we played like shit, but our opponents played even worse and we couldn't benefit from it.
Hey guys, here is a decent Veetle stream. Very relieble... Go IRAQ! http://veetle.com/index.php/channel/view#4fd6499175dd6
HT 1-1. Not impressed, we are far better but haven't created lots of dangerous chances yet. Hawar is horrible today, he should be subbed out.
