Looks quite likely we'll be displaced by Jordan, unless they lose twice to Iran and China really. Which isn't hugely unlikely I guess.

 

Playing any friendlies before World Cup qualifiers ?

 

Well it'll be a tough draw regardless tbh. I mean even if we are moved to the lowest pot, it doesn't change a huge deal. After playing 8 games, we need to be performing highly against all teams to have a chance of making it.

Jonny- Nothing confirmed yet. But I don't think it would make a difference anyway to the ranking. Apparently we're getting some old results downgraded which is making the big difference.

Great news if this is the case, he was lively in the game against Uzbekistan, good game without much pressure to try him in too!

 

So it seems like there are no friendlies whatsoever before the Singapore match. Singapore friendly today: Azerbaijan 2-2 Singapore.

 

Our FA's long running history of arranging solid friendlies is evident there once again.

fyi Iran drawing with Jordan yesterday did us a massive favour for the seedings yesterday, ensures Jordan are still below us, though they have to lose to China too to stay there
