Ranking of teams' penalty shoot-out records in major championships (World Cup finals, Continental championship finals and Confederations Cup only) - three shoot-out minimum.

Not many surprises here. Iran the worst team in Asia when it comes to penalties. We've lost a lot of trophies just because of this. Saudi Arabia surprised me here though.

we would have had 6 asian cups if we deservingly beat saudi and china on penalties because these matches were not supposed to go to penalties in the first place as the refs were both purchased prior to the game by the 'winning' sides. we also would have won asian cup 2007 if we didnt lose to south korea on penalties but they did not buy the ref, we just couldnt score. the only time i remember us winning on penalties is vs algeria in the LG cup around a decade ago. not sure if that counts on this chart though. Iran are really the england of asia because we have always been filled with stars, unable to play as a team, underachieve, overemotional, very passionate for the game, and terrible at penalties.
