I apologize in advance if I offend anyone but it just occurred to me that except for UAE, this is the "Axis of Evil" group. :p

Don't know what anyone else thinks but that match was a bore. UAE had a good shot on goal and KDPR missed a penalty. Deserved draw..
Let's hope for some action in next match!

It's not an even match, are you kidding? We dominated the entire half except the last few minutes.

I don't like how players are going at each other. I hope no injuries.

the ball was mostly in their side of the field i'll say that and we had more possession and got many freekicks and throw ins. i dont know about dominating. iraq had a couple of dangerous chanses as well.
dominating would have been if we had several chanses to score and did not capitalize. i didnt see that (though we had some), just more possession.
i think we had more control and pushed forward well, but dominating is a bit of an exaggeration imo. doesnt matter anyway

    HT: Iran v. Iraq 1:1

Iraq took a rather early lead, scoring in the 12th minute, when the game was largely being played at an even tempo. Iran began to dominate the rest of the half, until it scored the equalizer with a couple of minutes left in the half. Those two minutes were quite eventful for Iraq, as they had a couple of good chances to restore their lead with a great shot from outside the box nicely deflected by Iran's keeper right after another attack that had come close.

Iran fairly won 2-1, Iraq was not able to create anything the second half. And we are ahead in our group :)

Hold your head up because I am sure Iraq will make it out of the group and with so many quality players you can give anyone trouble.

This victory is sweet because we deserved to win as we played better and respect to iraq they played clean.

Btw I predicted 2-1 earlier in the thread.

A well deserved win for Iran, but Iraq is a good team and showed well in this match.

Congratulations to Iran's team and Iraniian fans. And to Iraq for making this a good game.

This was probably the best game so far. Both teams created good chances. It's a good win for Iran but it's only one game. We have to think of the next game and only that. We have a lot to improve on; especially defense and faster decision making and finishing.

I oNly saw half an hours worth, but was impressed with Iraq. They seem to be doing to Iran what Iran does to south Korea--quick counter attacks.

There was a bit of acting that I saw from Iraq, but not anything overly outrageous.

I expect the other games in this group to be as interesting...

Just got back from both games - congrats to Iran, tough luck Iraq. From what I saw of the 4 teams involved today, both Iraq and Iran should qualify for the last 8.

After the game Iran's Aghili spoke with a Iranian reporter and said some people were disrespecting Iran during the national anthems and that was uncalled for . I watched the game from a Iranian channel and they cut off the sound during the national anthems so i didn't hear anything
