yes asked to my self too why no Arbil players, but i think its good idea to give other young players a chance, maybe they got more in them, this compitition is not most importent, so i think its good that iraq takes new players to test them :)

Iraq won't participate at the Asian Games

Iraq won't participate at the 2010 Asian Games.

The reason is simple: Our great football federation. They had to send the names of the squad until July 2010, which they have done. BUT however they have changed their minds and wanted to send another squad, the organizing committee refused to change it (that's against the regulations) so IFA pulled out the team out of the competition.

    Well done.

You gotta be kidding me. I can't believe this. Do those people have any dignity or selfrespect because if they had then they would be gone a long time ago. Irakien, is that really the statement of the IFA or did you get the information from another source that is claiming this.

Re: Iraq won't participate at the Asian Games

Of course IFA only speaks about "asbab idariya". Fact is that they have first made Nadhum Shaker joining the NT stuff, leaving the U23 without a coach (that was the first problem, since his name was already sent the OG, see here)

Then, they called up 17 players from the squad to NT and wanted the replace them with other players born in 1989 (U21 team), the OG did not approve that.

Today, the list of the pariticpants was published, Iraq was not amongst them: http://www.gz2010.cn/10/1006/09/6IA5N91F0078002U.html

Yes, i expected that they would come up with such nonsense as asbab idariya, not admitting there stupidity. That is why i asked you. The IFA are champions in finding excuses and blame everything and everyone while they forget they have responsibilities theirselves.

Shame for Iraq not to participate. Was hoping for a miraculous match-up between us two. Oh well, bring on Gulf Cup and Asian Cup hopes.

First leg will be on the 19th June and 2nd leg on the 23rd June.

The first leg will probably be played in either Arbil or Dohuk.

And we have less than 3 months to prepare.

Our coach is Nadhum Shaker (think so anyway)
