At this point, I really wouldn't be surprised if they don't even play next year. She has dismantled the team down to its name, which will probably be the next thing that's changed.

EDIT: That's actually in Van's release! Holy cow. At least he didn't call the PASL the "Premiere Arena Soccer League" like in a past release.

 

Wouldn't it be interesting to see Keith transition into an outdoor position, possibly into some position within a MLS organization? I think he would be a benefit to any organization.

 

Thanks for the info Wave Fan. sad Day to see Coach go. I would imagine he'll get a new job in short order. Other news in there is joining the PASL, which is the only league left at this point.

 

Well, he was removed from their roster page. No article on their website and not even a Facebook post in recognition of his accomplishments. Really sad considering he was one of the best coaches in indoor soccer history.

 

I'd love to get an outdoor team here again. I loved the Rampage.

The Restructuring Begins
For the past 30 years the Milwaukee Wave professional soccer team has been a mainstay of the community. The Wave is proud to state that it is committed to staying in Milwaukee. While we begin to restructure and explore all options, we would like to thank our fans, sponsors, and community for their patience and support during this time of change.

We have several key components to our restructuring that will make it possible for the team to remain in Milwaukee and we are tackling them with a sense of urgency.

The Wave received excellent news from the United Soccer League Office and Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) that the franchise is officially released from the MISL and is now free to join a new league. As a result, we are in active discussions and negotiations to join Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL) along with Baltimore, Kansas City, Rochester and Syracuse. The PASL could potentially have 20+ teams in the upcoming 2014-15 season and has been operating for over 16 years.

In light of our current restructuring efforts, Keith Tozer and the Wave have amicably parted ways. Sue Black said, “Keith has had a wonderful run as coach of the Wave for 21 years. I personally and everyone in the organization wishes him every success in his future work.”

Once we identify our new league and team strategy, we will conduct a search for personnel who will best fit within our structure and will work to achieve our goals for the franchise, city, county and state.

Another key factor to keeping professional soccer alive in Milwaukee is our partnership with the US Cellular Arena. It is critical that we have a lease that represents a win-win for both parties.

Wave Summer Soccer Camps will continue as scheduled in partnership with our professional soccer players. The Wave players are gearing up for one of the best camp seasons in our franchise history.

They're hiding the firing of Tozer deep inside a generic release. It's cowardice is what it is. It's like they're hoping people won't actually read the article and find out. If you're going to get rid of the guy, at least own up to it, have some class, and acknowledge everything he's done for the Wave and the city of Milwaukee over the last 20+ years. Instead of nonchalantly saying, "Oh yeah, and Tozer's gone too."

The Premier Arena Soccer League (PASL-Premier) is the league that actually has been around sixteen years. The Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL) evolved from that. It's essentially the same organization. I know that's confusing to a lot of people, but then arena soccer is confusing to a lot of people. So there you are.
